About this mod

Tired of running out of iron ingots? Are you drowning in dwarven ingots but starved for steel? This mod will let you use all metal ingots to make Hearthfire Nails, Hinges, Fittings, Locks, and so forth. Craft lockpicks from any metal ingot. Now with updated FormIDs (finally)

Permissions and credits
Tired of running out of iron ingots and lockpicks?  Wishing your other metal ingots were half as useful as your iron ingots?  I certainly was, so I wrote this mod.  More Useful Ingots is an easy-to-use, lightweight mod that does three things:

It allows you to make Nails, Locks, Hinges, and Fittings out of almost any metal ingot, not just Iron.
This means less running all over Tamriel, buying ingots from blacksmiths.  If you have the Steel Smithing perk, you can make them from Steel Ingots.  If you have the Dwarven Smithing perk, you can make them from Dwarven Metal Ingots.  And so on.

It lets you craft 3 Lockpicks from any metal ingot.
All you need are the relevant smithing perks and an ingot, and you're good to go.

It renames 'Iron Fittings' to 'Metal Fittings.'
For better immersion. We can't really call them Iron Fittings if we made them from Orichalcum...

There are already a few mods out there that allow you to craft your own lockpicks from iron and/or steel ingots. If you use such a mod, I recommend you generate your own compatibility patch with SSEEdit (see below).  Otherwise you will get duplicate recipes in your crafting menu.  It's not a big deal for most people, and it won't break anything or crash your game if you don't...but some people like having really clean menus (and I'm one of them.)

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Q: Version 2.0, eh?  What's new?
A:  I finally got around to updating the FormIDs.  That's all.

Q: Why can't I make this stuff out of Malachite, Moonstone, Dragonbone, or Dragon Scales?
A: They aren't metal ingots.

Q: Why can't I make this stuff out of Gold or Silver?
A: Silver and gold are metal, but in my mind they are too soft and flexible to be useful in this manner.  And besides, there are already tons of uses for these ingots.

Q: Well what about ebony, huh?  It's not a metal!
A: I think we're both starting to over-thinking this.

Q: Why only 3 lockpicks per ingot?  I think there should be X instead.
A: I felt that 3 was a good usable number.  If you disagree, it's a simple fix in SSEEdit.

Q: Will this work with my other crafting mods?
A: Probably.  If you are using another mod that allows you to craft lockpicks, I recommend creating your own compatibility patch using the Automation Tools for TES5EDIT.

Q: Will this work with Requiem? SkyRe? PerMa? WhatEvah?
A: Probably; I don't use these so I can't really say for sure.  I think that as long as you aren't using a mod that changes the Smithing perks, you should be good to go.  Best to generate your own compatibility patch in SSEEdit.

Q: Can I use this in my own mod?  Distribute it to other websites?  Print out the code and rub it all over my body?
A: Sure.
