1. Description


Fresh's minor Skyrim Tweaks (FmST) is a mod that aims to tweak minor things within Skyrim to make them more fun, believable or just usable, without having a huge effect on gameplay and balance itself, hence the name "minor". Some of these were already done by other mods, but they came with many more functionalities I did not like, which kept me from downloading those mods.
As a result of this, I decided to split this mod up in multiple parts I call "modules" in order for you, the user, to decide which parts of my mod you want to use. Keep in mind that this will result in multiple esp's being added to your load order.

This mod is in Beta and WIP, and due to me being busy with other stuff I can not promise any fast updates. Rest assured though that I will try my best.
I hope to expand the list of modules with more things, aswell as add stuff to already existing modules. For now, the mod contains the following modules:

  • Carriages
  • Misc Tweaks

2.1 Carriages

FmST - Carriages adds usable carriages to Winterhold, Morthal, Dawnstar and Falkreath. Note that some of the drivers are female and have not been voiced yet. This will be changed in future updates.

2.2 Misc Tweaks

FmST - Misc Tweaks aims to tweak and add minor things within the game.
For now, it features the following:
  • Spell to make normal torches into weapons and a spell to reverse that
  • The weaponinzed torch acts as a simple 1h mace that is slightly weaker (but faster) than an iron mace, does additional fire damage and still emitts light
  • Woodcutter's Axes are now 2h weapons, slightly lighter, faster and less damaging than 2h iron battle axes (the chopping animation is not affected by this!)
  • Spell "FmST Clear Hand": This spell can be used to empty your hand. Once equipped, this spell unequips itself, thereby leaving the hand empty.
    This can be used if you quickly want to change from a "1h weapon + spell" setup to "1h weapon" only. Note that it is adviced to add this spell to your favourites and add it to one of the shortcuts, basically enabling you to empty your left hand with 1 button press. Other than that this spell has little to no use, as you'd have to open the favourites (or the inventory) in every other case anyway.

3. Installation
Simply extract the files in to your /SkyrimSpecialEdition/Data folder. However, using NMM is recommended.
4. Compatibility


So far, no incompatibilities are known to me, however, that does not mean there are none. Especially the Carriages module is bound to have issues with mods that change cells in or around the cities it adds carriages to. In case you find issues, please let me know, I will hopefully have the time to fix those eventually.

4.1 Known Issues

Carriages:
  • The female drivers are not voiced (I know, that's because the game does not come with pre-recorded voicelines for them. I'm currently working on changing this)

Misc Tweaks:
  • The weaponized torch behaves a bit strange in the characters' hands (I modified the original torch mesh for this and right now, I do not know how exactly meshes work yet, but I'm looking into it)
  • The torch is still burning when lowering it. My legs burn!! (The fire effect is attached to the mesh, and I have no idea how to enable/disable it on the fly, sorry...)
  • When updating from an older version, the new spell is not added to the spellbook. For now adding the spell using the console is the only option to get it when updating..

5. Sidenotes

I made this mod mostly for myself, changing things about the game I wanted to be different. So while this mod currently is enough for me, you might have things you want to see added. Please do not hesitate to suggest improvements or additions, there's always room for expanding the list of modules... ;)

7. FAQ
Q: How do I get the spells to make weapon torches from normal torches and vice versa, aswell as the "Clear Hand" spell from V. 0.4.3b?
A: They should be added to your spell book automatically, if not, please let me know. As a workaraound you can use the console to get them. (search for "Weaponize", "De-Weaponize" or "FmST" to get their IDs , and use "player.addspell(ID)")
