Q. What does "Of Fire and Ice" actually do?
Dragons drop type-specific bones and scales, allowing you to produce different dragon-based equipment depending on the dragons you slay.
Armor created includes fire and frost resistances (and weaknesses) depending on the dragon the bones and scales orginated from. The crafted armor can still be enchanted as normal.
Currently the mod does not affect Dragonborn or Dawnguard dragons -- I can easily update the mod to include these dragons if there is sufficient interest.
This is the beginning of a much more detailed mod and I need feedback. Are the armors too powerful or too weak? What kind of weapon effects would you like to see? Are the 9 types of bone and scale too many or too few? Please comment!
Sought: A collaboration with one or more texture artists to create variegated appearances for the different pieces of equipment.
Q. Is this mod compatible with other mods?
The mod should be compatible with most mods. I have modified the items that the dragons drop on their death -- if there is a conflict it will be at this point. I would suggest reading the description of the other mod or talking with the author to find out if a conflict will occur.
Q. Where does this mod need to be in my load order?
Pretty much anywhere in your load order, unless you have mods that alter what the dragons drop, or the 'recipes' for the pieces of dragon armor.
Q. Where do I put the file if I choose to install manually?
Place the .esp file in your Skyrim Data directory, such as "C:\Program Files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\". The .pex script file should go under "C:\Program Files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\Scripts\"
Q. Can I suggest improving the mod by doing x, y, or z?

Yes, however, most are currently not converted to SSE. Guards Use Vanilla Open Helms has currently been ported to SSE.

- (Bug fix) Enables tempering of the new items
- (Tweak) L1 dragons now once again drop the original bones and scales. L2+ dragons drop the new bones and scales.
