Whiterun is the central trading hub of an entire province but with only 20 buildings and only 4 of them being dedicated shops it feels more like a small settlement.

Whiterun Metropolis adds more than 70 new buildings to the exterior of Whiterun, with various gates (and tunnels) linking it with the original Whiterun world cell. The new districts lay to the East, West and North, leaving the South and original entrance untouched. The suburb of Riverside lays to the East. All NPCs have AI packages, allowing the new districts to feel like living and breathing places. Townsfolk will tend their shops during the day, have dinner in the evening, and sleep in their beds at night.

Amongst the additions are many shops, a handful of taverns, a couple of parks, secret exits and doors, a tunnel system underneath the Mason District, with no load screens (just hop down the well!), a mine, a player home (more to come with future updates) and a few squats the player may sleep and store items in, 4 new stables, a multi-choice quest, some new spells and powers as quest rewards, various unique enchanted weapons, armour and jewellery and many new intricate NPCs. Beggars may follow you if they sense you're carrying a lot of gold, there are three ways of dealing with them, of the two legal options, you may run away breaking line of site, or give one of them some gold, which will settle the beggars down for a good few hours.

The original Whiterun World cell is untouched, allowing compatibility with overhaul mods players may be using such as JK's Skyrim, front gate overhauls etc.

Riverside is an entire town to the East of Whiterun made up of primarily labourers, hunters, fishermen and farmers. Despite being a poorer area, its merchants tend to be rather well off as many travellers pass through Riverside on their way to Whiterun's various Districts. The legendary Hunter's Peak tavern lays high up on the hill near the bridge to Whiterun, if you're heading this way, travel guides highly recommend stopping by and browsing their astonishing selection of ales, meads and freshly prepared meals, or if you're not thirsty nor hungry then perhaps you'd care for some target practice in the archery range situated in the lower halls. Rumour has it that they may also have a room for purchase.
Riverside services include:
- Fishery
- Lumbermill
- Mine (Iron and Corundum)
- Hunters
- Blacksmith
- General Goods
- Herbalist
- Clothier
- Clutter Merchant (homeware)
- Tavern (with room for purchase, two levels, three bars and an archery range)
- Shrine (only functional after quest)
- Fence (with player bed and purchasable storage)

The Mason District is to the East and is named after the Mason Guild that is located here. They are the ones responsible for maintaining Whiterun's vast and sprawling walls and roads. Most traffic that passes into Whiterun from Riverside comes through here, as a result it's denizens tend to be rather well off. The Mason District has an underground storage area where market vendors and homeowners store various things, rumour has it there's also a cave system below that, but that's probably nonsense. But talking of rumours, word is spreading about member's of the homeless population going missing, I wonder if there's anything to it.
Mason District services include:
- Mason Guild (WIP, will be joinable and have mason/building related quests)
- Bookstore - Magical and Mundane
- Enchanter
- Market Stall - Weapons and Armour
- Market Stall - Baked Goods
- Market Stall - Potions and Drinks
- Market Stall - Farm Goods
- Market Stall - Hunter
- Fence (WIP, with player bed and purchasable storage)

Cliffside is split into two areas, upper and lower. Cliffside Lower is the poorer area situated right along Whiterun's North/South road whereas Cliffside Upper is an upper class area tucked away from the main road.
Cliffside services include:
- Cafe
- Tavern (WIP)
- Bathhouse
- Player House (WIP)
- Adventurer Shop (WIP)
- Apothecary (WIP)
- Market Stall - Bakery
- Market Stall - Hunter (WIP)
- Fence (with player bed, purchasable storage and purchasable secret pass key)

Cliffside Crossroads is just up the road North of Cliffside proper, wherever you are wanting to get to, you can get there from here. Crossroads boasts formidable defences with twin towers and many guard houses nearby, this area primarily serves the town's guards, with a healer tending to the wounded and a smith repairing their equipment. The houses near the North Gate house a great many farmers who's job it is to feed the vast metropolis of Whiterun.
Cliffside Crossroads services include:
- Blacksmith
- Healer
- Training Area
- Farms (WIP)
- Adventurer Guild (WIP, no direction taken, either Dungeon Crawlers or Highwaymen)

Amber Park is situated to the North, directly below Dragons Reach. Boasting incredible lighting in the early morning, many citizens of Whiterun have come to love eating breakfast here, its views of the surrounding area are truly awe inspiring. Rumour has it there's a secret passage under the pond, but that's surely just gossip.

Widows Way is a park located directly below Amber Park. It's beauty is more sombre and subtle, but it is there for those who care to look. It got its name from the tradition of wives burying their husbands here.

Fortified Whiterun - Compatible
JK's Skyrim/JK's Whiterun - Compatible
This is Jorrvaskr - Minor issue, patch on that mod's page

Actor Limit Fix - This mod is a must in my LO, in vanilla if there are too many NPCs loaded, they will act weird and eventually float off the ground. This will help incredibly with that issue. Make sure to pick up whatever it's dependencies are too.
Fortified Whiterun - Fortifies the vanilla Whiterun gate area.
Jk's Skyrim/JK's Whiterun - Beautifies the vanilla Whiterun city with new statics and flora.
