- OVERVIEW -

The default post-processing file (enbeffect.fx) that comes with ENB for Skyrim Special Edition does not include separate settings for days, nights or interiors.  This means that settings you apply to make a daytime scene look right may look wrong at night, or within interiors.

This mod provides an easy-to-install and easy-to-use post-processing file for ENB, including separated settings for Dawn, Sunrise, Day, Sunset, Dusk, Night and Interiors. The file is pre-configured to look good out-of-the-box, and all settings are easily customized from within the game. From the author of Enhanced Shaders for Skyrim and Falout New Vegas.

- FEATURES & FAQ -

  • Easy to install and easy to use!
  • Separate settings can be specified for Dawn, Sunrise, Day, Sunset, Dusk, Night and Interiors!
  • Comes pre-configured to look good with 'vanilla' Skyrim SE lighting and weather!
  • This file imparts virtually NO performance impact! (though ENB itself can have an impact on performance)
  • Also Retains all of the default color-correction parameters that come with ENB for Skyrim SE!
  • This mod is not an 'ENB Preset'; it is only a replacer for the default enbeffect.fx post-processing file that comes with ENB for Skyrim Special Edition.
  • Feel free to include this file in your own presets, please just link back here in your mod description to give credit and to help other ENB users find it!
  • This mod should be 'compatible' with all other weather and lighting mods, though some re-calibration of settings will likely be required in most cases
  • If you use this with a weather/lighting mod that already darkens nights, for example, you will probably want to reduce/remove the night darkening added by this mod. The quick and dirty way to do this is just to change the ToneMappingCurve for Sunrise, Sunset and/or Night from 10 down to 7, i.e. the value that is used for Dawn, Sunrise and Day ... though some additional fine-tuning would likely also be required.
  • If you use ENB and Reshade both for post-processing, it is very easy to degrade your game image since the post-processing effects would essentially 'layer'. It would be easy to end up with reduced dynamic range, color banding artifacts, over-saturation etc.
  • You can use ENB and Reshade together without issues, for example if you want to use DOF from ENB and ambient occlusion from Reshade, though I would recommend only using one or the other for post-processing.
  • If you install this mod 'on top' of another ENB which relies on settings in its enbeffect.fx file, know that you will be overwriting these settings when you install this mod

Version 2.0

  • Updated all Adaptation Min and Max parameters to accept three decimal places (e.g. 0.025) because this feature really benefits from this finer level of control, making configuration a bit easier.
  • This refinement also now allows the 'Neutral' configuration from the 'Optional Files' section to ACTUALLY be 100% neutral with respect to the default enbeffect.fx file that comes with ENB for Skyrim SE. Without the third decimal place for adaptation, the config was a TINY bit brighter than the default file.
  • Re calibrated the default configuration (i.e. the enbeffect.fx.ini file in the 'enbseries' folder) based on an overall gamma value of 2.2, with a refined balance of all parameters for all times of day.
  • NOTE ON UPDATING: If you already have an ENB DNI configuration you like, you can simply replace the enbeffect.fx file (and NOT the .ini file) to preserve your current settings while still benefiting from the refined adaptation parameters.

- INSTALLATION -

1) Install the latest version of ENB for Skyrim Special Edition from http://enbdev.com/download_mod_tesskyrimse.html
Here is my video that covers installation of ENB for Skyrim Special Edition in detail: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmwe2wZgesM

2) Download and extract this mod

3) Copy the content of the extracted folder (i.e. the enbeffect.fx file and the enbseries folder) into your Skyrim game folder, where the SkyrimSE.exe file is located. Overwrite the two existing files when asked to do so. Done!

- COMPATIBILITY -

This mod should 'work' just fine with other weather/lighting mods, such as Vivid Weathers - Special Edition and Enhanced Lighting for ENB, though it is calibrated to look good with 'vanilla' Skyrim SE weather and lighting, so some adjustments may be required when using along with other mods in order to achieve desirable results.

- UNINSTALLATION -

1) Simply delete the two installed files, and optionally reinstall the default versions of these files from the regular ENB package you downloaded
