About this mod

As you're traversing the harsh winter lands of Skyrim, have you ever stopped and looked at a particular NPC and thought "Gee, your face looks a bit munted"? This mod aims to fix that by subtly changing certain NPCs to look a bit more normal.

INTRODUCTION
As you're traversing the harsh winter lands of Skyrim, have you ever stopped and looked at a particular NPC and thought "Gee, your face looks a bit munted"? Well, this mod aims to fix that.

Throughout Skyrim are a handful, if not a dozen NPCs that could use some slight tweaks to their appearance to make them look better. For example, Camilla Valerius has quite a bit of make-up caked on that she almost looks like she's about to hit the street corners of Riverwood. By adjusting some of her make-up values, she looks a bit more like a normal, everyday pretty young lass in a tiny riverside village.

Take that idea, and apply it to whatever NPC you think may need it and you have the concept behind Subtle Skyrim Makeovers.

WHO CURRENTLY HAS THE SSM TREATMENT?
This mod is very much a work in progress, so not every NPC is covered right now. I'm not planning to do overhaul the entire game with this mod; only the NPCs who need the attention of some subtle changes. But for those interested, below are the following NPCs that have been tweaked so far:
  • Lydia, Housecarl of Whiterun
  • Camilla Valerius, Sister to Lucan Valerius of Riverwood
  • Muiri, Apocathary Assistant of Markarth
  • Ysolda, Aspiring Merchant of Whiterun

INSTALLATION
I've aimed to make the installation of this mod as easy as possible for Nexus users. Simply click the "Download with Manager" button, and away you go. Once downloaded and installed, you should see two files:

  • SubtleSkyrimMakeovers.esp
  • SubtleSkyrimMakeovers.bsa

Contained in the ESP is the information about what parts the NPC should use. The BSA contains the exported FaceGen edits which are necessary to see the changes otherwise you'll see the nasty Gray Face Bug that Bethesda didn't actually fix with the SE Creation Kit.

MI'LORD, ANOTHER NPC NEEDS YOUR ASSISTANCE!
Well, I'm keen to take a look at them and see what I can do. If you've got someone in mind who is in dire need of a TweakSlap, post the name of the NPC in the comments (and their location) so I can gallop along like the valiant hero I am to save them. But seriously, I need to see what they look like in-game first to judge how much of an impact the CK will have.

WILL YOU PORT THIS TO CONSOLE?
Short answer: no. Long answer: I really can't be f***ed screwing about with the console mod system, particularly the PS4 side of things (Seriously, Sony - no external assets? Get f***ed).

WELL, CAN I PORT THIS TO CONSOLE THEN?
Go your hardest. Just be sure to credit me, and include a link back to this page in your mod description.

WAIT, THERE'S NO SCREENSHOTS! I'M NOT DOWNLOADING IT!
Suit yourself. Going in-game, taking screenshots, sorting them out, uploading them... takes time. Not much, but it's time spent I could be used adding to the mod. But, if you're wanting to help out -- feel free to download the mod, and add your own screenshots. Actually, I encourage that. Do it now.
