About this mod

Most Merchants/Blacksmiths no longer sell enchanted jewelry/armor/weapons (which better fits Skyrim's Lore). Additionally, MOST Merchants no longer have inventories that 'grow' alongside the player's level!

Keep in mind, you'll still find Orcish/Nordic/Ebony/Bonemold for sale where you'd expect Lorewise.

You've emerged from Helgen and visit the shops...they only have Nordic iron and steel, which is as it should be!  This is Skyrim after all!  Elven/orc stuff is supposed to be rare...and glass/ebony/daedric rarer still!

So far, so good....right?

However, you do find it weird that the merchants are happily displaying enchanted goods....I thought the Nords of Skyrim distrusted magic?!?!  Also, didn't the College of Winterhold Enchanting courier work show us that people are embarrassed/ashamed to order enchantments (the regular citizens certainly seemed embarrassed/ashamed to be making orders)?  But then why do guards happily ask you to enchant their swords...are they being sarcastic?

But it gets FAR worse!

After spending a few hours sparring with Mud Crabs and leveling up 20 levels, you venture back to town to visit the shops....that are now selling Enchanted Ebony goods?!?!  Wait, were they hiding their inventory from me earlier?  Do they now find me worthy of their better stock because I killed some mudcrabs?  And how are these smiths even making gear that is A) beyond their skill levels and B) that they don't have the materials for?  Also, since you KNOW it isn't you or the College, then who exactly is enchanting (and delivering) all this enchanted stuff suddenly being sold by Merchants/Blacksmiths?!?

You've just been slapped in the face and reminded that you are playing a game where Merchants Inventory levels sup to match your level!

What Does This Mod Do?

-Blacksmiths/Merchants/Quartermasters now mostly sell NON-Enchanted Iron and Steel goods...regardless of what level the Dragonborn is.
*exceptions include:
-the Blacksmiths of Solstheim (Nordic/Chitin/Bonemold/Stalthrim)
-Orc Blacksmiths (who sell Orcish equipment)
-the Orc Blacksmith in Narzulbur will also sometimes have Ebony equipment/materials, since they mine and work with it!
-Imperial/Sons Quartermasters will have faction armors for sale
-the Dremora Merchant (DLC2) will sell you Daedric Goods, as well as enchanted goods

-Apothecary offerings (and looted potions) are no longer based on player level = you should have access to the full selection right from the start

-Merchants (excluding Wizard Merchants) generally do NOT sell magic items/armor/weapons!
*Note: Khajiit Caravan enchanted items ARE removed from their merchant inventory, BUT each Caravan Merchant at the start of the game seems to get a special 'permanent' magic item for sale that doesn't respawn.  It'll remain in the merchants 'items for sale' list until you purchase it.....since this still fits my mod's intent well enough = I decided to leave their Caravans with their permanent magic items for sale.
**Note: Most Merchants have enchanted items removed from their vendor inventory, but it seems some of them start with a couple of low level 'permanent' magic items for sale that don't respawn. Those enchanted items will remain in the vendors 'items for sale' list until you purchase it.  Since this still fits my mod's intent = I left it working as is.
***Note: Mods that add new Merchants who have their own Vendor Chest = this mod won't affect them.

-You can also create steel ingots with charcoal + iron ore (like real life!)....so as to not confuse players, I left the corundum + iron recipe in (let's pretend corundum has a high carbon content).

-CandleLight Scrolls are now sold by Court Mages (it was odd that they weren't in the first place).
-CandleLight Scroll duration is extended to 5 minutes.

Compatibility

-works fine with anything
-when loaded with other mods that modify the same leveled list containers, then last mod loaded 'wins'
-for MorrowLoot Ultimate users, I suggest using Omega Morrowloot Ultimate instead (same as regular Morrowloot Ultimate, but is pre-patched)...then load my mod last.

Some personal thoughts on Nords and Enchanting:

Yeah, I know the College of WinterHold Enchanter mentions that Nords still want enchanted items, but the courier work he tasks you with is a bit secretive....and Customers seem to be ashamed to even be ordering Enchantments!

Then there are the guards who openly request you enchant their swords...seems like they are okay with enchanting, right?  But those same guards will also ask you to conjure up a bed for them...and we know Nords dislike (hate) necormancers!  So.....maybe the guards are just kidding around?

Sigh, so I am going to go with the view that Nords dislike enchantments + stealing/enslaving souls + evil looking enchanting workbenches....but can't ignore the power of enchantments either....so they have a slightly uneasy acceptance of enchantments.
