Alright, here we go, this is a revamping and re-envisioning of my mod, The Noiral.  Basically I have removed the custom race aspect of the mod, allowing you to play any race as a Noiral.  With that said, slight lore revisions, and there have been changes to a few of the spells, with a new primal transformation and mount you can summon...this is basically a mod for Ranger/Druid lovers.

None whatsoever, other than what you have to download from here=)

The Noiral were a small tribe of druids, formed from members of many races, who followed teachings laid out in an ancient manuscript written by Thadgeir the Tattooed Man, who was supposedly a hero of the Atmoran Civil war, and one of Ysgramor's five hundred companions. This manuscript and the secrets held within were handed down from Thadgeir to his son Yngvar, who was the founder of the Noiral. Upon learning these secrets, and mastering the rituals held within Thadgeir's book, Yngvar shared the secrets with a select few, who then sequestered themselves in the wilds of Skyrim, away from prying eyes to keep these secrets from the hands of those who would abuse the power. This tribe has survived in Skyrim, passing their secrets down from generation to generation, with the children of the original members no longer having to brand their skin like their forefathers, though they are "branded" with glowing eyes and mystic symbols burned into their irises.  The Noiral had largely remained out of the affairs of Skyrim...that is until the Thalmor incursion.

On their crusade to stamp out Talos worship, the Thalmor discovered the Noiral's village deep in the wilds of Skyrim. Though the Noiral wielded great power, the Thalmor numbers were too great, and the Noiral tribe was decimated, and the village was burned to cinders and ashes. The few surviving Noiral are now scattered throughout Skyrim...

Thadgeir's Teachings:

Thadgeir's manuscript talked of Thadgeir's early journeys and travels to strange and unknown lands. It was in these journeys that he learned of strange rituals and rites, and that he branded his body with mystic symbols (earning him the moniker of "the Tattooed Man"). These symbols are said to bind primordial nature spirits to ones very being, and allow the branded to draw upon this spirit, granting them various powers and the ability to shapeshift into primal beasts.

The Noiral can manifest a portion of their power and create a fiery wolf called an Amarok for short periods of time to aid them in their journeys. The Amarok gains in power as the Noiral gains in levels. **Note -- When loading into new cells/areas, the Amarok will not follow you. It will need to be re-summoned into these areas if needed. (This beast has a glow map and will glow in the dark!)

The Noiral can manifest a portion of their power and create a fiery bear called a Shardik for short periods of time to aid them in their journeys. The Shardik gains in power as the Noiral gains in levels. **Note -- When loading into new cells/areas, the Shardik will not follow you. It will need to be re-summoned into these areas if needed. (This beast has a glow map and will glow in the dark!)

The Noiral can manifest a portion of their power and create a fiery cat called a Nekomata for short periods of time to aid them in their journeys. The Nekomata is a mount that you can summon.  It should be noted, when you use the left attack button, the Nekomata will attack your target.  That said, you will not be able to utilize bows or magic spells while riding the Nekomata.  You will need to draw your weapon to utilize your mount's attack feature.

Another note on the Nekomata...this cat is sometimes lazy when first summoned, and if you mount it while it is laying down, you cannot get it to move until it is ready to get up.  Best advice, walk away a bit and then back to get it to stand...or smack it with your fists or weapon once to make it stand.

The Noiral can summon a Gnarl Shaman, who can utilize Noiral magics in combat.

The Noiral can summon a Spriggan Childe, who wields an icy spear in combat.

The Noiral can summon a Spriggan Storm Mistress, who wields the power of thunder and lightning in combat.

The powerful Elder Spriggan is a once a day summons.

The Bakeneko is a powerful primal spirit that the Noiral can transform into.  With this ability, your Noiral can assume this powerful spirit's form for a short period of time in combat.  This form lasts for 120 seconds or until you press the shout to revert back to normal.  As cool and powerful as this form is...do not get hit by cold/ice attacks.  You will not last long if so...

The Nyah-Gwaheh is one of the most powerful primal spirits known to the Noiral.  With this ability, your Noiral can assume this powerful spirits form for a short period of time in combat.  This form lasts for 120 seconds or until you press the shout to revert back to normal.  As cool and powerful as this form is...do not get hit by cold/ice attacks.  You will not last long if so...

The Titan is to the Atronach, what the Megalodon is to the Great White Shark.  Works like the previous two transformations, and watch out for cold attacks.

The Wendigo is a horrific spirit of winter and death.  Again, similar to previous transformations, but watch out for fire while in this form.

**Note:  There are two known "bugs" for the primal transformations.  If you transform while wearing a quiver, you will see said quiver poking out of the body.  If you don't want to see such, unequip the quiver before changing.  The second bug, occasionally during a "kill move" sequence, the animation may freeze for a few seconds.  Just wait, and the animation will complete.

This is an aura type ability that when activated, grants the Noiral an enhancement to archery, one handed, and sneak. It should be noted that by activating this aura, it will cancel out any other active auras.

**Quick Note: Not sure what the issue is, but from time to time when activating this aura, the tendril effects show up, but the skin effects don't. This can be solved by going into and then out of first person.**

SUPPRESS AURA:

This ability cancels out aura abilities (Primal Static, Primal Frost, Primal Flame).

This is an aura type ability that when activated, grants the Noiral frost resistance, and increases stamina regeneration.  It should be noted that by activating this aura, it will cancel out any other active auras. Here is quick vid with an example of Primal Frost in game (turn up the video quality to better see the runes/animations):

This is an aura type ability that when activated, grants the Noiral flame resistance, and increases health regeneration.  It should be noted that by activating this aura, it will cancel out any other active auras. Here is quick vid with an example of Primal Flame in game (turn up the video quality to better see the runes/animations):

This is an aura type ability that when activated, grants the Noiral shock resistance, and increases magicka regeneration. It should be noted that by activating this aura, it will cancel out any other active auras.

This is an aura type ability that when activated, grants the Noiral a bonus to conjuration, will double the amount of time for primal summons, and will allow the Noiral to summon up to 3 primal creatures at once.

Similar to Flames with a shorter range, and you blast your foes with primal elemental energies, and can slow them down some.

This is similar to Ice Bolt, but you strike your foe with primal elemental energies, and have a chance to paralyze the target for a few seconds.

The Noiral can enhance their senses by infusing themselves with primal energies, allowing them to see in the dark, and locate nearby friends and foes. It should be noted that if you cut off Primal Sight before it's time frame is up, you will not be able to see in the dark, but the ability to locate friends and enemies will persist until the spell timer runs out.

This spell changes the Noiral into a ghost-like Nekomata form.  While in this form, the Noiral is invulnerable to damage, will regenerate hit points, and has increased speed for a quick escape.  You cannot attack in this form, and it only lasts for 30 seconds...

This allows you to release a Primal Spirit in the form of a dragon. This summons lasts for five minutes, and can be used once per day. As a warning -- while this dragon will attack your enemies, it still basically functions like a dragon -- while flying in the air during the fight, if it spots a tasty foe which is not currently a part of your current fight, it may stop and attack it. As well, this is a large creature...I would recommend against trying to summon it in tight spaces. AND, this summoned creature does take extra damage from cold based sources. (This beast has a glow map and will glow in the dark!)

Noiral Artifacts:

There are also two Primal Artifacts, once wielded by Thadgeir the Branded that have been in the safe keeping of the Noiral until the Thalmor attack. The waraxe "Reaver" and the bow "FrostFyre" were both weapons forged by Thadgeir's hand, and were infused with primal energies enhancing their powers greatly. (These weapons have glow maps and will glow in the dark!)

Frostfyre deals fire, frost and stamina damage, and has a chance at slowing targets. Reaver does fire and stamina damage, and has a chance at staggering foes. Both weapons have unlimited charges, and are fairly comparable in stats (if not slightly more powerful) to artifacts currently in game. The weapons themselves are equivalent to Daedric quality weapons, and they can be upgraded (need the Daedric Smithing perk).

And the armors can be upgraded and come in enchanted and unenchanted varieties.

The LifeSong staff has a variety of abilities/powers.  Check the stickied post for detailed information on this powerful artifact.

The additional powers and artifacts are meant to be very rare, so they have not and will not be placed on a merchant anywhere. They are meant to be earned, hence me placing them in various points throughout the game. If you have already finished questing in these areas, then see the below on how to get your hands on the spells and weapons.

Locations of tomes and weapons:

The spell tomes are scattered throughout a few locations. Suppress Aura, Primal Frost and Primal Blast can be found in Helgen Keep in the torture chamber. Primal Skin and the Bakeneko transformation can be found in the opening room of Bleak Falls Barrow.  Primal Bear abd Primal Strike can be found in the Thalmor Embassy Dungeon. Primal Escape, Primal Flame, and Primal Sight can be found in Northwatch Keep. Conjure Primal Dragon, Nyah-Gwaheh, the waraxe Reaver, and the bow, Frostfyre, can be found in Reachwind Eyrie (this tower is patrolled by a freed Primal Dragon and it has been set to be friendly with the nearby Orc stronghold so as not to kill anyone there thus messing up your quests, and you will have to face the freed Nyah-Gwaheh spirit inside the tower).  Primal Static, Primal Cat, and Primal Wolf is in the Winterhold College Arcanaeum.  The Wendigo Transformation can be found on an icy beach just north of Winterhold College, on the ground near the dead Thalmor and the very deadly Wendigo itself.  Check the beaches somewhere near the wrecked ship.  The armors and Titan Transformation can be found in the Noiral camp, on the riverbanks near the Guardian Stones, and beware the Titan that is ready to tear you up.  Finally for the Primal Summoner Aura, Spriggan based summons, and the LifeSong staff, touch the glowing stone found at the Roadside Ruins outside of Falkreath.  Beware the numerous Spriggan guardians in their hidden grove...

It is recommended that you use the nexus installer. If you decide to do it manually, just drop the esp and bsa files into your program files(x86)>steam>steamapps>common>skyrim>data folder.

Again it is recommended that you use the nexus mod manager for all installing and uninstalling needs. If you decide to do it manually, just delete the esp and bsa files from the program files (x86)>steam>steamapps>common>skyrim>data folder.

If you are using the Unique Character mod, the Primal Transformation spells will make you look like a werewolf with flames.  I have no idea on why this happens, and no clue on how to fix it.  As well, some people have reported experiencing an issue with the eyes when coming out of Invisibility and similar spells. I have no clue why this is, but if you shapeshift into a primal form and change back, it seems to fix that eye issue.

Mods that alter any areas I have placed spell tomes/items in, may also conflict with this mod.

My original custom race mod, The Noiral Reloaded, will also conflict with this mod.

Finally, sometimes there will be a glitch when you mount the Nekomata, making it look like you are mounting the air next to your mount.  This seems to be an issue that happens if you mount/dismount while it is laying down.  It should self correct and place you on the fiery cat.

Beyond that, no other known issues at this moment...I will update this as needed.

A lot of mods and the works of talented modders went into the making of this little creation. Without them, this mod would not be possible. I am just basically the chef that had to find the tastiest ingredients, and mix it all up to serve to you guys. So, here we go with the thanks, and be sure to check out their individual mods (if I missed anyone, let me know so I can get them added):

GendunDrup for releasing the Nexus Creature Resource where I got the mesh for the Elder Spriggan.

Vicn for releasing the Vicn Creature Pack as a modders resource, where I got the original Spriggan Childe, Spriggan Storm Mistress, Gnarl Shaman, Titan and Wendigo meshes.

Kelretu's Modders Resources, where I got the tents used for the Noiral camp.

TesTiger's Mesh Resources, where I got the armor meshes for the Noiral armor.

Dogtown1 for use of the Weretiger mesh, check out the Skyrim Monster Mod and Monster Mod

Lifesong - The Grove Matron Staff -- I have to say, I found this mod, and fell in love with the staff.  I was also blown away by the fact that LittleBaron no longer mods, and offered up the mod as a modder's resource.  I have incorporated this mod in with mine, since the staff is awesome, and the Spriggan Grove is 100% in theme with the Spriggan based summons I am using.  All credit for the staff and the grove itself goes to LittleBaron.

Arisen1 for creating all of the Primal Textures for the beasts and weapons, check out some of her work: Cuter Animal Textures

jaredbangerter for the tutorial on creating playable monsters and making them into polymorph spells: How to play as Monsters in Skyrim

As well, thanks to Obsidian Dawn for the rocking arcane designs, they really helped bring the vision of the Noiral to life!

And a big special thanks to my friend, Wes Sharp, who created the original idea of the Noiral a long time ago for a table top RPG. May you rest in peace my friend, you are missed. It is to his memory that I dedicate this mod.

And for the legal stuff -- the Noiral are a copyright of Runes Law Inc., of which I am part of=)

And, if you are looking for a mod geared towards more of the arcane archer/ranger kind of style, check out my mod Elemental Archery!!!
