Eat some food gains "Keeps you going" effect for avoid hunger.
Eat good food gains "Sets you up" effect for more strength.
If you have both effects, your attributes are same as vanilla.
If you eat in combat, these effects not work.
Without eat, you receive huge penalty for health, magicka and stamina.
If you suffering hunger, attributes gets -90 penalty.
(Yes, with newgame, you have to runaway from Alduin and enemy. because you have only 10 health. before you find cabbage.)
