About this mod

Divine Blessings (Dawnguard and Dragonborn Blessings included) now last longer and have had their effectiveness increased. Mephala's Blessing now improves your Sneak skill. All Nine Divine Amulets are also made more powerful.

Alternatively, pick just one of these changes (Blessings or Amulets).

I've heard many a fictional character utter "the Gods are fickle". Having played Skyrim, I can empathize - their favour doesn't last very long. As of writing this, there are mods aplenty to remedy how fleeting blessings are on the SSE Nexus - but none that also make them worth getting in the first place.

How good the vanilla Blessings/Amulet enchanments actually are is subjective, and depends heavily on how you mod your game and what difficulty level you choose. Personally, however, I don't get out of bed for Arkay's Health Fortification effect - all 25 points of it. It's alright at level 1, but quickly loses relevance.

I found myself thinking the same thing about most of the other Blessings/Amulets, and so decided to tweak the values so that collecting Blessings or Amulets felt more worthwhile. Maybe my changes are too tame where flat value effects are concerned,  or too much where % effects are concerned, but to me they feel like a decent upgrade over vanilla base values without going overboard.

Blessings were enhanced slightly more than Amulets, the reasoning being that despite their increased duration, they are still temporary and harder to swap between than Amulets (once you've collected them).

All Blessings now last up to two weeks of in-game time (~2.1x longer than Vanilla). As per vanilla rules, you cannot have more than one Blessing concurrently.

Mephala's Blessing has been changed to empower Sneak, to better reflect their station as the Daedric Prince of Obfuscation and Secrecy, and because their original Blessing is the exact same as Zenithar's. Boring, that.

Voice of the Sky's duration has been extended to match that of Blessings, potentially making your pilgrimages to High Hrothgar more worthwhile. Unless you enjoy slaughtering every wild animal you come across in Tamriel - you do you.

Each Blessing's effect has been empowered:

  • Akatosh: Fortify Magicka Regen - 10% > 30%

  • Arkay: Fortify Health - 2550

  • Auri-El: Fortify Marksman - 10% > 30%

  • Azura: Fortify Magic Resistance - 10% > 20%

  • Boethiah: Fortify One-Handed - 10% > 30%

  • Dibella: Fortify Persuasion (Speech) - 10 > 30

  • Julianos: Fortify Magicka - 25 > 50

  • Kynareth: Fortify Stamina - 2550

  • Mara: Fortify Restoration - 10% > 30%

  • Mephala: Fortify Speechcraft (Prices) Sneak - 30

  • Stendarr: Fortify Shield Block Block - 10% > 30%

  • Talos: Fortify Shout Regeneration - 20% > 30%

  • Zenithar: Fortify Speechcraft (Prices) - 10% > 30%

All Divine Amulet enchantments have also been empowered, to a lesser degree than their corresponding Blessings.

  • Akatosh: Fortify Magicka Regen - 25 > 30%

  • Arkay: Fortify Health - 10 > 30

  • Dibella: Fortify Persuasion (Speech) - 15 > 20

  • Julianos: Fortify Magicka - 10 > 30

  • Kynareth: Fortify Stamina - 10 > 30

  • Mara: Fortify Restoration - 10% > 20%

  • Stendarr: Fortify Shield Block Block - 10% > 20%

  • Talos: Fortify Shout Regeneration - 20% > 30%

  • Zenithar: Fortify Speechcraft (Prices) - 10% > 20%

Optional files that only affect either Blessings or Amulets are provided, since some may want one of these gameplay changes, but not the other.

Download and install only one of the three files, not multiples.

If you were looking for a mod that only alters the duration of the Blessings, there are already a handful of those on the SSE Nexus - I will not be adding an optional file with those parameters.

Not compatible with any mods that alter either the Divine Amulet enchantment effects or the Divine Blessing magical effects - whichever is applicable to the version of this mod you have chosen to download.

Download and activate this mod on NMM/Mod Organizer/Your Mod Manager of Choice as you would most other mods.

If anything doesn't work as advertised and/or you run into any issues, please let me know and I will try to address those issues at my earliest convenience.

At this time I have no plans to release any further updates for this mod (bar bugfixes, if there are any) as the mod matches its mission statement. I also do not intend to put out several different versions of the mod with varying power levels to cater to requests, as that would clutter the download section.

You're more than welcome to edit any particular effect magnitude or duration you take issue with on xEdit, as I have done.

xEdit by ElminsterAU and the SSEEdit Team, used to make this mod.

Solitude and Temple Frescoes by Arduunos, whose textures can be seen on this mod's header and thumbnail.

VoorheesAJollyGoodFellow for the Block power mult idea (and by extension, Ryuujin-0).

Frikster for pointing out a misculation in regards to Timescale and blessing durations.

For posterity, I've no intention of porting my mods over to Oldrim since I now play the SE exclusively, but if anyone wishes to do so, you have my permission. This does not apply to my Meltdown mods, as they require Master files that I do not own.
