Skyrim Special Edition

Compatibility and Recommended Alternate Lighting/Weather Mods

So you don't like RLO or one of our modules? That is fine, everyone has their own personal tastes.

Here are some other mods you can try in it's place:

Climates of Tamriel by jjc71

A great mod made by a really down to earth and nice guy. This is one of the best weather and lighting mods made for Skyrim and now ported to SSE.

It is compatible with RLO and is also modular in nature.

COT is a sister mod to RLO and it is best used when you load RLO interiors + Major City Exteriors and COT weathers. The effect is staggering, bug free and looks gorgeous.

This was one of the most recommended setups by Real Vision mod back for original Skyrim.

If you want to use Climates of Tamriel, do not use our weather modules (City Interiors and Exteriors esp's are fine as they are not weather modules.)

Enhanced Lights and FX by Anamorfus

Unfortunately ELFX is not compatible with RLO, so you will have to pick what you want as per your tastes. RLO is based on subtle and realistic lighting, while ELFX has awesome cinematic lighting and effects, thus is a lot more atmospheric or dramatic.

If you are looking for an alternative to RLO - ELFX is the one you should look at next - without a doubt one of the greatest lighting mods ever made. If you want a subtle realism mod, RLO might be for you. If you want a very cinematic and technically appealing mod, ELFX might be for you!

Check it out!

Enhanced Lighting for ENB (ELE) - Special Edition by --JawZ--

This mod is not compatible with RLO, but I can recommend it as a replacement to RLO.

Surreal Lighting by Arindel

Another lighting mod for SSE, however is not compatible with RLO. I personally like it's colourful and fantasy look.

True Storms Special Edition by fadingsignal

This is another great mod that makes storms, well seem actually like real storms!

This can be used in place of our weathers should you wish to. I would not recommend using this with RLO weathers, but some have stated you can load True Storms after RLO weathers and it will only replace RLO's storm weather. So you can try loading True Storms after RLO

Vivid Weathers by Mangaclub

While I still believe Climates of Tamriel is the best weather mod for Skryim, some prefer Vivid Weathers.

Vivid Weathers is basically an edited version of Climates of Tamriel, with edits made by MangaClub to suit his personal tastes and released as his own mod.

I still believe using Climates of Tamriel is the go to option, but if you like Manga's modification to Climates of Tamriel, then be my guest.

If you use Vivid Weathers, then do not use our weather modules. (City Interiors and Exteriors esp's are fine as they are not weather modules.)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I will updating this list as more SSE lighting mods are released and we get info about compatibility.

Is there a lighting mod updated for SSE that you recommend? Then please feel free to post here and tell us!

I am not fussed if you do not like our mod, as long as the community is happy with their own personal game. All modders have varying degree of skills, available time and experience - but at the end of the day all mod creations are a work of art which took many months to complete. These modders deserve YOUR RESPECT.

Please do not forget that.

Cheers,

Tony.
