Skyrim Special Edition

Before using a compatibility patch, make sure it supports the latest version of this mod. Using an outdated compatibility patch may cause issues.

Known compatibility list

  • Animallica: Compatible.
  • Animal Tweaks: Compatible. Load Wildcat below Animal Tweaks. Animal Tweaks seems to contain game setting changes that are far outside its domain, such as difficulty settings, so load Wildcat below Animal Tweaks to allow Wildcat's settings to take precedence.
  • Archery Gameplay Overhaul: Compatible. Both mods contain a stamina drain when holding a drawn bow, so you may want to turn off one or the other.
  • ASIS: Compatible. Add SFL_, SFL4_ and WCT_ to the [PerkExclusionsStartsWith] list in the ASIS Automatic Perks INI and to the [SpellExclusionsStartsWith] list in the ASIS Automatic Spells INI. Warning: There have been several reports that ASIS will modify difficulty settings, making the game much easier than intended.
  • Attack Commitment: Compatible. Load Wildcat above Attack Commitment.
  • Campfire: Compatible. According to the Campfire site, Campfire comes with an outdated fix for the "Brawl Bug", while Wildcat comes with the more effective Modern Brawl Bug Fix. Load Wildcat below Campfire to prevent potential issues when participating in brawls.
  • Combat Behavior Improved: Compatible.
  • Combat Fatigue: Compatible.
  • Combat Evolved: Compatible, but with significant overlap. Both mods include improved AI, game settings (block effectiveness, stagger strength, etc) and increased difficulty, and the mod that is lower in your load order will take precedence and override these changes in the other mod. Realistic Damage Plugin: Load the Realistic Damage Plugin below Combat Evolved or it will not work correctly.
  • Deadly Combat (classic Skyrim): Compatible, but with some overlap. Both mods include game settings changes (block effectiveness, etc), and the mod that is lower in your load order will take precedence and override these changes in the other mod. Timed blocking: Both mods add timed blocking, so you may want to disable one or the other in its MCM or configuration power to eliminate redundancy.
  • Deadly Combat (SSE): Compatible regardless of load order. The Deadly Combat page has a list of recommended settings to integrate both mods seamlessly (classic/SSE).
  • Diverse Dragons: Compatible.
  • Dragon Combat Overhaul: Compatible.
  • Duel - Combat Realism: Compatible, but with significant overlap. Both mods include game settings (block effectiveness, bash stamina costs, etc), and the mod that is lower in your load order will take precedence and override these changes in the other mod. Stagger: Both mods add stagger mechanics, so disable one or the other in its MCM or configuration power to eliminate redundancy. Note: Duel only tweaks game settings and adds stagger mechanics, so if you prefer the game settings and stagger mechanics of Wildcat, there is no added value in having Duel in your load order.
  • Enderal: Compatible. Use the No DLC version of Wildcat.
  • Enemy Enhancer: Compatible.
  • Enhanced Blood Textures: Compatible. Enhanced Blood Textures comes with an outdated fix for the "Brawl Bug", while Wildcat comes with the more effective Modern Brawl Bug Fix. Load Wildcat below Enhanced Blood Textures.
  • ERSO Enhanced Enemy AI: Compatible, but with significant overlap. Load Enhanced Enemy AI below Wildcat. Wildcat makes similar modifications to the same AI data, so Enhanced Enemy AI is redundant unless you prefer it over the Wildcat AI.
  • Grimy Combat Patcher: Some assembly required. Grimy Combat Patcher will generate a patch file that replaces the combat styles of all NPCs in your load order with its own, overriding the Wildcat AI with its own. If this is what you want, run the patcher as normal. If you prefer the Wildcat AI, remove Wildcat, run the patcher without modifying combat styles and add Wildcat back.
  • High Level Enemies: Compatible.
  • Immersive Citizens - AI Overhaul: Compatible.
  • Immersive NPCs in the Dark: Compatible. Immersive NPCs in the Dark comes with an outdated fix for the "Brawl Bug", while Wildcat comes with the more effective Modern Brawl Bug Fix. Load Wildcat below Immersive NPCs in the Dark.
  • Immersive Weapons: Some assembly required. Immersive Weapons modifies combat styles for unknown reasons (this is an AI change and should not be part of a weapon pack), causing a conflict. Third party compatibility patch available (SSE) or just load Wildcat below Immersive Weapons.
  • Mortal Enemies: Compatible.
  • Ordinator - Perks of Skyrim: Compatible. Timed blocking: Taking the Ordinator perk Timed Block automatically turns off timed blocking in Wildcat, so manually disabling timed blocking in Wildcat is not necessary.
  • Perkus Maximus (PerMa): Compatible. Patchus Maximus (PaMa): Add Wildcat to the PaMa block list to prevent it from distributing unwanted spells and perks to NPCs.
  • Requiem: Compatible, but with some overlap. The Requiem community recommends specific settings for Wildcat to match the vision of Requiem and eliminate overlap. Leave "Allow Wildcat to manage difficulty" disabled in the Wildcat MCM to prevent Wildcat from overriding Requiem.
  • Revenge of the Enemies: Compatible. Most enemies modified by Revenge of the Enemies have their own custom AI and may not benefit as much from the improved AI in Wildcat. Since Revenge of the Enemies is already hard enough, this is not an issue.
  • Smilodon - Combat of Skyrim: Not compatible. Both mods are made by me. Smilodon started as a combat overhaul designed specificially for SSE and a more updated alternative to Wildcat, but its improvements have been backported into Wildcat 6.xx as well. Since both mods are very similar to each other, there is no reason to use both.
  • Sneak Tools: Compatible.
  • Skyrim Immersive Creatures: Compatible. A small number of enemies added by Skyrim Immersive Creatures have their own custom AI and may not benefit as much from the improved AI in Wildcat.
  • Skyrim Redone (SkyRe): Compatible. Load Wildcat below SkyRe.
  • SkyTEST - Realistic Animals & Predators: Compatible. Be aware that SkyTEST makes animals significantly stronger and is the leading cause of mudcrab related fatalities.
  • SkyTweak: Compatible. Leave "Allow Wildcat to manage difficulty" disabled in the Wildcat MCM to prevent Wildcat from repeatedly overriding the difficulty settings you select in SkyTweak.
  • TK Dodge: Compatible.
  • Ultimate Combat: Compatible. Load Ultimate Combat below Wildcat to give Ultimate Combat priority. Timed blocking: Both mods add timed blocking, so you may want to disable one or the other in its MCM or configuration power to eliminate redundancy.
  • Vigor - Combat and Injuries: Compatible, but with some overlap. Load Vigor below Wildcat, and make sure you have at least version 5.1 of Vigor. Injuries and stagger: Both mods add injuries and stagger mechanics, so you may want to disable one or the other in its MCM or configuration power to eliminate redundancy.
  • Weapon Parry Standalone: Compatible. Weapon Parry Standalone comes with an outdated fix for the "Brawl Bug", while Wildcat comes with the more effective Modern Brawl Bug Fix. Load Wildcat below Weapon Parry Standalone to prevent potential issues when participating in brawls.

Compatibility with other mods

  • Wildcat does not modify actors (NPCs) and is compatible with mods that modify actors.
  • Wildcat is compatible with mods that add new actors. Its AI changes will not apply to those authors if they have their own custom AI set by the author.
  • Wildcat does not conflict with other mods that add injuries.
  • Wildcat overlaps with other mods that modify combat styles (AI including enemy aggressiveness, power attack chance, block chance etc), game settings (block chance, dual cast multipliers, regeneration multiplier in battle, NPC spell costs, etc) and movement types (movement speeds). This overlap is not a conflict, but requires you to make a decision as to which implementation you prefer. Load the mod whose AI, game settings and/or movement speeds you prefer below the other mod to give it priority.
  • Wildcat overlaps with other mods that modify difficulty settings (damage dealt/taken multipliers). Load the mod whose difficulty settings you prefer below the other mod to give it priority. If you enable "Allow Wildcat to manage difficulty" in the Wildcat MCM, the script will overrule all other mods that modify difficulty settings, regardless of load order, including its own Realistic Damage Plugin. Should you have other mods that allow you to select difficulty settings in their MCM, make sure they match so the mods don't repeatedly overrule each other.
  • Using multiple difficulty increasing mods, such as mods that make enemies stronger, may be too difficult to be enjoyable.
