About this video

Just made a little music video while testing how far I can push the original Skyrim (not the Special Edition) using my new computer, which sports a 7700K and a GTX 1080 Ti FE.   All footage captured at 2880x1620 resolution, though the video is rendered at 1080p.  The music is from Oblivion, and the ENB is a customized version of Confidence Man's 'Natural Lighting & Atmospherics'.   I also have 63+ GB of mods installed (see load order below...). By the way, notice the absence of the notorious 64Hz micro-stutter...!

Lol, wait ... this page has over 4400 views?! That can't be right, the video has only been viewed a total of 1800 times ... @_@ ... wtf?

Looks great Tapioks. I personally can't play without DOF myself - I love the effect and it happens in real life as well. Next to reflections its one of my favorite effects. Looked pretty nice to me in the video. It also helps to add depth to an image and bring things into focus. I find images without it to be flat and dull in many cases ... although mist and fog can help with some depth in that case.

Tried DynoLOD three times. It is a great tool but in the end not worth it. Way too much work IMO for the end results. Lots of work keeping it updated if you change things a lot and really not much pay-off as I don't look off into the distance that much when playing - more focused on what is happening up close. Besides your video is a perfect example of how good a game can look with just TESLODGEN.

But admittedly I am pretty lazy when it comes to modding. I really don't like having to spend a lot of time fiddling with mods. Prefer plug and play for the most part.

Hey, good to hear from you man! I agree that getting mods setup can be a fair bit of work, but sometimes it pays off . .. and other times you born your game and have to reinstall

DynDOLOD is a patcher that does things based on users settings and selections and more often than not users just don't seem to realize the available options and possibilities.

For example, you can generate static object and tree LODs with DynDOLOD just once for a base setup and never worry about it again - just like you do with TES5LODGen. However, the rather obvious benefits are that LOD textures match the load order and the drastically improved LOD detail with less pop-in because of the several 1000s updated/new LOD assets.

In my opinion the video is a perfect example how bad the game looks without proper LODs. There is really no need that anyone has to endure this in 2017, even for lazy people...

Thanks for the comment! I am using TESLODGEN but have yet to delve into DynDoLod .. probably should just go for it. As for the DOF, I actually really enjoy the effect, though I set it up so that when I am in battle everything is in focus. It really only kicks in when I am looking closely at something, or closely at my character in 3rd person. In any case, I know that some people just don't like the effect, no worries

I been using DynDoLod since its release and its amazing and really improves the beauty of the wide open areas of a already great looking game. It includes animated waterfalls and windmills and supports most custom homes as well so they do not just pop into view as you near them like usual.
Its only downside is it does add a fair bit of load to the script engine so personally i always use its medium setting but high setting looks fantastic if you have the overhead to run it.
10/10 would give Sheson my first born again if i could. You will still use TESLODGEN for the LOD textures so you will just be adding to what you are already using.

DynDOLOD is 20 minutes to install from A to Z and it improves your game drastically. After you install it and play couple of hours, you are like "WTF how did I play wihtout it before?"
