The prophecy foretold of the day the bringers of end times would return to Nirn. 

Weeks ago Helgen was attacked. I witnessed the dark dragon flying over the destroyed city with my own eyes... 

It would be only a matter of days before the Dragons would decide to attack Whiterun.

This day has come. 

Balgruuf, ordered me to be part of the first wave of defense, because I'm the only person in Whiterun that had any interaction with dragons up to this point. 

In command of the defensive operation, he escalated his very own Housecarl, Irileth. 

We and several of the best guards available marched towards the tower. 

Irileth's life is to be protected at all costs. In case this first line of defense fails, she will be the one to provide intel to the Companions of Jorrvaskr, so that they can engage the beast.
