Skyrim

Site update - slowly does it

  • Comment
As per the news article yesterday we have updated Skyrim Nexus with our brand new site code that we've been working on for over a year now. As expected we've had a few teething issues that we're gradually working through.

You might find that Skyrim Nexus is a little bit slow at the moment as we tune the server environment to our new code. We'll be tweaking this over the next 48 hours and hopefully your browsing experience will gradually improve during this time. You don't need to let us know that the site is running slow or you're hitting timeout errors, because we know!

However, if you come across any bugs that you think aren't related to the database being slow then please report them in our bug tracker, where it's way more likely to be noticed and fixed, rather than say, in a news post or topic on the forums! Thanks.

Is it still a little slow for everyone else?

Okay, I'm late to the party, but I just wanted to say that I LOVE the updated "latest files" page. Used to be you only got ten pages and then you had to go search the big list on the "New Recently" page, which has no handy descriptions to decode the often-cryptic titles. Well, it just so happens that I've been buried in overtime for the last week when the new site code went live, and I came back expecting to have to trudge through a million links on the New Recently Page of Doom, many of which I would have passed over otherwise and shortened my search time...and lo and behold! There was no trudging involved! You guys rock.

The Site was, with the old Code, pretty slow for me here in Germany but with the new Code it is even worse.
If there is a new Notification and i click on it, there is no further Action going on, i have to click two or three Times and then there comes a separate Window up, where are 50 or so Notifications are showing up.
Same when i try to click on a File in Latest Mods Section, have to click two or three Times before the Page reacts.
The Page is "extremely" slow to load and some Parts are still missing after the load is done - Reload of the Page with or without Browser Cache makes no difference.
I know that you are working on it, but in the Post there was talked about 48h, they are quite over.
Some Times when i want to Download a File (normally great enough so i can choose from a Premium Server) the Site wont give me this Option and begins to load from a Public Server.

I will post this in the bug Tracker too ;-)

in the meantime, keep up the good Work - i love the Site anyway...LOL

I tried to endorse a file, got error that I haven't downloaded it,
redownloaded it and waited 15 min, like the error said,
tried again with the same error, that I haven't downloadeed it.

Twice i tried to download with the NMM, twice it failed. The manual download is the only way for me to make it through. No big problem, anyway, since I manually installed mods with Morrowind and Oblivion, too.

Anyone tried Waterfox? (= 64bits firefox equivalent) with this site? For me, it's slightly faster. Yes I'm using a lot of tags to block. Meaning the search query is quite long.

    Keep up the good work!
The only bug I've encountered is that videos don't show up, I just get a white square.
    Running latest Firefox.

NMM button is still missing, and NMM is just messed up in general. Its time for me to stop using it anyways because their is no organization what so ever, and I need to stop being lazy and just manually install mods the good old fashioned way. Less errors that way too!
