Skyrim update 1.3.10 released

  • Comment
A small update for Skyrim was released today on Steam, which adds support for LAA.

Notes:
  • Support for 4-Gigabyte Tuning (Large Address Aware).
  • Fixed issue with accented characters not displaying properly at the end of a line.

So, it seems a 3rd party software for running Skyrim with support for LAA is no longer needed, hopefully.

You all might laugh at me, but... I'm still (essentially forced to play) on Skyrim 1.1.21.
1.2 caused some issues which I can't exactly recall very well.
1.3.10 caused a regular THRONG of issues.

    BTW, I'm 64-bit Win 7 + Radeon HD 6950 2gb (Sapphire, can't update to 6970 shaders btw) + 4gb of RAM + literally 150+ mods. All of which work *FINE* under 1.121... but nothing else. That's life. <img class=">

There are (apparently?) far too many variables to take into consideration or something.

    Well said.

since patch 1.3, sensitivity of the vertical-axis on mice is reduced.

What do I do to return it to the same sensitivity of the horizontal axis?

You all might laugh at me, but... I'm still (essentially forced to play) on Skyrim 1.1.21.

1.2 caused some issues which I can't exactly recall very well, but basically I started seeing CTDs when I literally almost NEVER had them before.

I stayed with 1.1.21 for a VERY long time before getting the itchy trigger finger to try the latest 4gb support 1.3.10 patch or whatever it is called...

1.3.10 caused a regular THRONG of issues, including (but not limited to):

    * Broken Y-Axis (and no, nothing I did fixed it, including multiple attempts at tweaks to the INI files + letting it detect hardware many times, etc.).
    * Purple textures when I never had them before
    * Sluggish chops in performance at certain moments
    * Broken hard-coded keys... I could no longer give things to companions, nor store items... and some other map things were inoperative
    * Some of my gear was bugged... although I've never done anything special with my items at this point. I don't even think I have many custom enchantments or even RENAMES yet!
    * CTDs waaaaayy more often (as in... basically HAVING THEM AT ALL). Of course-- no error messages as usual.
    * Loading freezes... as in you see the little 3d rendering + smoke + Skyrim's goblins are fearsome creat...blahblahblah... and it stays like that indefinitely. Disk access light on HDD goes silent.

Strangely... reverting BACK to 1.1.21... uh... solved everything again. Although I had to unbreak the hard-coded keys that no longer responded by doing something which I can't recall anymore (I tried so many things, lol).

Sadly, this also means that I can't even use SKSE (I've even tried the v 1.121 versions--no dice)... WHICH means I can't use anything that UTILIZES SKSE for that mod... lol but oh well, that's life.

So... all in all, I guess it just goes to show that no one (including Bethesda??) has any clue what (if anything) patches will actually do. There are (apparently?) far too many variables to take into consideration or something. Sort of understandable, I suppose... but then again, I don't know much about coding.

The 4gb LAA thing though (not having it UNTIL v 1.3.1)... wow, that was baloney. Sorry--it's just a fact. <img class=">

UPDATE: No major issues any longer. Finished Civil War quest, did have one CTD during taking of Windhelm. Once reloaded did lots of quick saves, no issues!

Does anyone know when the next update/patch is due to come out?

After the latest update (1.3.10) I had to update my enbseries to the latest installment. NO CRASHES....WOO HOO!! I am running Skyrim on a system that should not be able to run it. Single core AMD 2 ghz, 1.5 gigs RAM, Geforce 8400 GS, just to name a few. Game would not run at all without crashing to BSOD or CTD no error within 5 minutes or less. Got the enbseries and ran it fine with only a few crashes in the same dungeons every time. Now I play it for hours with the latest enbseries and no problems at all. Just found the Elder Scroll. It will CTD if I hit ESC and then hit ESC again without saving. But it always did that.
    enbseries

Update: Completed Main Quest. CTD's on the Winterhold mages quests. Multiple places.

My game keeps crashing every 20 minutes since this new patch and it´s not mod problems.I´ll be playing oblivion and wait for the next patch and if it crashes well I´ll have to wait until I upgrade my RAM and change my windows to 64 bits maybe that way it will work.

I tried a few things out and I'm save to say that the .exe is not the factor which makes the game crash! I installed the 1.3.10 update and resored everything back to 1.3.7 except TESV.exe. It seems like the integrated archives or the Update.esm are the one which cause this "Memory Overflow issue" (Before my game crashed my Memory Usage always went up to 20 GB while I only have 4 installed)

If the other solutions don't help you, try this one out !

UPDATE: I'm up and running for several hours and all is good. All saves (Quick, Auto & Full) are loading and playing with no issues. Not sure what the issue was as I have NO mods loaded, but it was freakin' weird! I am running the current update. Hope this might help anyone else that is having issues. A full system restore is a big process I understand, but for me at least it worked......wish I knew why though!!!!
