ENB Series updated for Skyrim

  • Comment
Boris Voronstov, the developer of the ENB Series; which adds graphical enhancements to several games, has been updated with some support for Skyrim. Currently it looks like he has added some SSAO effects, and offers some advice on memory management changes through the INI files to help smooth out gameplay.

Head on over to the ENBDev website to check it out.

Update: Thanks to tapioks for pointing out that the SSAO and other effects are not in the current version available for download. The author has only posted images of the coming effects and the current download only has some minor and general tweaks and fixes.

    Every time I start the game with this mod, it takes a screenshot with every frame!

    This mod does improve the lighting but it has some bugs, like the world map for instance. Overall it's quite nice, just hoping for a more Thiefeadly Shadows palette though, that was f--king immersive lighting in my opinion.

    It s makin me lose a little FPS and i can't figure what it changes anyway, i won't use it anymore.
    Anyway the game is just great right now with mods and settings i got, no need to improve it further as long as it runs as smooth as can be, this is what count to me that's why i'm so happy to have it PC version. and not laggy bobox or Pee S3.

    I can't wait to have creation kit so i will rework light effects and shadows, because that'is what do the most important job visually speaking (look at Deadspace).

    I installed the latest version of this fix, and it cleared up some graphical issues I was having; namely, that most of the game's billboarding effects were not working at all (invisible spiderwebs/cobwebs, invisible spell effects such as flames and clairvoyance, invisible shout effects, invisible fog/dust in ruins, invisible cloud layer on map view, invisible dragon breath flames, invisible magelights, invisible spell fountains at the mage's college, invisible beams of light in Meridia's temple, etc.). Now, they work just fine. Another excellent release from ENB.

    @Tropxe
    Just my guess; judging by some of his posts, he is still basing the development on DX9 because he doesn't have a DX10 or DX11 card (November 9th 2011). Also to be honest, I found his rants to be ridiculous, if not hilarious (March 1st 2010). XD

    And I need to know; are his patches/mods usable only on single core processors? Because I can run Silent Hill Homecoming just fine without his patch. Also his Skyrim patch didn't do anything to improve my game, just like Tropxe described. Maybe not for me then.

    But he's still a talented modder, methink.

    I installed this and it totally fucked game performance while making no visible differences. See my profile for system specs. It's running on Ultra usually and is smooth as butter apart from certain locations where it drops into what looks like the 40 range, such as Markarth when looking across the whole town. Putting this on made it horribly slow in Riften and I couldn't see any visual improvement.

    Why won't this guy do DX11 stuff? Why is he still basing it on DX9?
