About this mod

When the player dies he gets to continue the game as his son , which will be placed in a random location and who'se appearence will be edited by the player . His skills and level will get a debuf, but he will keep the quests and properties of the father. Revenge can be taken if the killer is not essencial of course.

CONCEPT

This mod redefines the concept of death in Skyrim. When the played dies, instead of being forced to reload an old save game, will be brought to random place where will start the creation of his son/daughter (even if the text for books/quests still have to be made dynamic). From that point the player will play as him and so on.

The last player's character son/daughter will have stats similar to the father/mother but de-buffed, and will keep his father/mother's properties (houses, horses etc..) and quests. All the items of the father will be lost, but if he was killed by someone the son/daughter will be contacted by a courier with a letter that will start the REVENGE quest, if the player is killed not by an NPC but in an accident or similar the courier will still come but no quest will start. On this quest the son/daughter can kill (if not essential) his father/mother's killer, and take from his body the weapon the father/mother had equipped when died (if he had one) now renamed "Mother/Father's heritage" and the gold the father/mother had at the moment of death.

Quest items won't be removed from the player (to avoid breaking the quests since i have found no solution yet), but all the other items will be put in a chest in the Whiterun GuardHouse (as explained in the courier letter). This will happen no matter what. So even if you don't have to do the revenge quest you can always recover your items.

The player debuf process concerns the player level which might be slightly decreased (max 5 levels) and all the player skills what if are higher than 20 might be decresed by a maximum of 10 points. This numbers might change, but for now if works like this.

The current version (0.2) is somewhat stable. Still there's lots of work to do :)

As for every mod that is in it's early stage, and expecially due to the fact that we are dealing with the death mechanic, i strongly recommend to start a new game.

COMPATIBILITY

At the moment the mod should be fully compatible with every other mod. Maybe an exception might be the mods that act on death related features.

VERSION 0.2

- Now there are two cases. 
1) Player is killed by NPC : Revenge quest with parent's items recovery (optional)
2) Player dies in other way: Still receives the letter of condolence and the items are placed in the specified position

- Added a line to the player's parent killer to allow to forgive him/her.

- Fixed some bugs like: items appearing as stolen after death, resurrection sometimes not happening (i hope) and other minor changes

- Now the letter contains the name of the killer.

- All the texts have been rendered sexually neutral and the same goes for the parent weapon name.


NOTES

If anyone encounters any kind of bug in the mod please consider leaving a comment about it. I will do all the possible to fix them as soon as possible, and i thank you in advance for the help provided.

Some people have asked me if i will bring the mod to Skyrim Special Edition. I have tried but the way death works in SSE is even more bugged then in Vanilla. So, as long as i will not find a solution to this i cannot do the porting.
