Intro
Have you ever turned a cool looking bandit or a pretty strong one into a follower with mods like Better Vampires only to have them disappear randomly or change appearance?
With this mod, you simply need to pick up the body once, drop it and then choose "Yes" to set it unique.
Unique corpses will never disappear until you choose to, by either cleaning their carcasses until there is nothing left, burying them or simply drop them a second time and choose "No" to allow them to respawn.

Maybe you are an assassin/necromancer and want to decorate your place with bodies, perhaps dress them up while you are at it.
With this mod you can pick up bodies and drop them anywhere you like and also give them items to wear.
If you do not want to place them but you are saving them for a big battle, just give the corpses to your followers, drop them and turn them into thralls anytime you want... Or just store them away in your hideout.

While cleaning carcasses is a good alternative to burying them as you get items in exchange, purchasing a shovel and burying is still necessary to clean up ash piles.

Features
  • You can pick up and store corpses away.
  • You can place them anywhere and they will never disappear (unless you decide so).
  • You can dress up corpses with anything you wish.
  • Dropped corpses can be unique and turned into followers (with other mods) that will never disappear or change appearance.
  • You can bury them, including the ash piles.
  • You can clean their carcasses to obtain various items such as human flesh or skulls.
  • You can decapitate the bodies and choose which part of them to keep.

How-To
How do I pick up a corpse?
After you have made sure that they are dead, crouch and interact with them:
An option called "Corpse" should appear, choose it.
A new menu will appear, choose "Carry" and the corpse will be added into your inventory (misc category).

I dropped a corpse but it did not appear!
I had an hard time to find corpses sometimes when dropping them outdoors as they can spawn hidden in grass or behind a tree, make sure to drop them in a field with good visual or be ready to look around.

How do I bury a corpse/ash pile?
You need to own a shovel for the option to appear.

When I drop a corpse, it asks me if I want it to stay unique, what does it mean?
If you choose "Yes" to keep it unique, the dropped corpse will never disappear.
This is useful if you want to decorate a place with it or plan to turn the body into a permanent follower with another mod, if you plan to get rid of the body without burying it, you should choose "No" to let it behave like a normal corpse and respawn later on by itself.

How do I clean up a carcass?
After you have made sure that they are dead, crouch and interact with them:
An option called "Corpse" should appear, choose it.

A new menu will appear, choose "Clean carcass" and the corpse will be cleaned up and you will get some items out of it, a broken skeleton is what will be left of them (which can also be cleaned).

How do I decapitate a body?
After you have made sure that they are dead, crouch and interact with them:
An option called "Corpse" should appear, choose it.

A new menu will appear, choose "Decapitate", yet another menu will appear which will ask you what body part to keep, as in 1.01, you can only keep the body; You can only decapitate unique bodies.

How do I dress up a body?
Search them and give them the equipment you want them to wear, they will automatically wear them.

Why does it say I cannot clean/decapitate this body?
Only playable races and Hagravens can be decapitated.
Other creatures would require separate custom models which goes beyond the scope of this mod.
Cleaning up a carcass is simpler to do, as far as them having a human skeleton makes sense, currently only playable races, skeletons and giants can be cleaned up.

Why does it say I cannot hold any other corpse? I didn't reach the default limit of 100!

Upgrading from older versions can often lead to having references that point to
nothing, meaning that you might only own 20 corpses but the mod thinks
you actually have 100 (the default limit).

Cleaning happens automatically but old references may be kept and require a manual cleaning up.

How do I manually clean corpses references?
1. Drop all the corpses you own and set them to not unique.
2. Open console and type "sqv CUC_Aliases", normally all REF Actors should be set to none, except those bodies you have forgotten somewhere or whose reference is bugged from previous versions.
3. If a REF Actor is filled when it should not be, open console and type "help corpse", the MISC Items from this mod that are not called "Corpse" but rather "Name's corpse" (For instance: Bandit's corpse) are the items that refer to those actors, the list should be in the same order as the REF actors in sqv, so they should be easy to point out.
Type "Player.Additem *CorpseID* 1" and the corpse item will be added.
Drop it and when prompted if you want to keep it unique, choose no and the ref in that spot will be cleared up, if a body actually appears, it means the reference was not bugged but you had simply lost it somewhere, normally it should not spawn anything.
4. Repeat the step 3 until the "sqv CUC_Aliases" REF Actors all point to none, then pick up all the corpses you had dropped previously.
