Once you've played Skyrim a couple of times, one of the most disappointing aspects is that every character desires the same equipment determined only by your armor skill. Heavy armored characters want daedric, light armored want dragonscale, and alteration users want the college robes of their preferred school. That means that every character's goal is merely to progress through the other armor tiers as quickly as possible, discarding them along the way.
This mod adds some interesting bonuses to lower-tier armors and weapons in order to make them more attractive to different character types. You might still move on to the higher tiers as you progress, but depending on your build you might find these useful for a bigger chunk of the game.
Note: While not a prerequisite, these bonuses will behave more consistently with Weapons and Armor Fixes - Remade and Complete Crafting Overhaul - Remade installed. In particular, the dwarven and orcish armor bonuses were designed with the adjusted value of those armors from the True Orcish and Daedric Weapons plugin.
Bonuses:
Orcish Armor reflects 5% of weapon damage back at attackers for each piece worn.
Orcish weapons ignore 50% of enemies' armor.
Dwarven armor has a 5% chance of absorbing spells, increases carry weight by 25 points, decreases the weight of worn armor by 25%, and deals 2 shock damage to all enemies within 10 feet for each piece worn. However, each pieces also stunts magicka regeneration by 20%.
Falmer weapons (and falmer honed weapons) are good for another dose of any poison applied to them.
Elven armor and weapons hold more powerful enchantments when enchanted at an enchanter's altar.
"Simple" weapons – those made of wood or whose primary function is as a tool (e.g. woodcutter's axe) deal additional damage based on the pickpocket skill. Both base damage and sneak attack damage increase Potions and enchantments that fortify pickpocketing also increase base damage of these weapons.
