About this mod

Fast travel now takes as much time as it should in-universe.

Notes:
Every single mod that tries to add "Immersion" to the time scale in Skyrim seems to think that the proper course of action is to slow the rate a which time passes in-game compared to real life, but in actuality, if you want the player's experience to correspond (i.e. immersion) with the in-game universe, the appropriate course of action would be to increase the rate at which time passes. The reason for this is because the in-game Skyrim is approximately 0.01% of its actual size in lore. Every step you take actually represents 100 steps in-universe, and likewise in universe takes the amount of time it would take you to walk 100 steps in real life. Let's say walking forward 1 step takes 1 second in-game, that means in universe, 1 second in-game corresponds to however long it takes you to walk 100 steps in real life, let's say 100 seconds. So, an accurate time scale would actually be 1:100, which is 5 times faster than the default time scale 1:20 and unfortunately impractical for actually playing the game.

However, there is a place where accelerate time doesn't affect your game experience: fast travel. Real life Skyrim is approximately the size of modern Poland, and based on some rough calculations and research on medieval transportation, I've come up with a time scale I felt is appropriate. With this mod, it will take approximately 15 in-game days to fast travel from Riften to Markarth, which is accurate with medieval travel times (assuming you're taking a carriage along any major roads). Thus, a "finished" game of Skyrim with you having adventured all over the province is likely to take several in-game years, rather than several months. For reference, Skyrim begins at 8:00 AM on Sundas (Sunday), 17th of Last Seed (August) 4E 201. Feel free to post a comment and tell me how long your game took!

Features:
-The Game Setting fFastTravelSpeedMult is set to 0.07 to make more time pass during fast travel

Installation:
Drag and drop into your Data folder or mod manager of choice, this mod can probably go anywhere.
This mod does not need cleaning.

Requirements:
Classic Skyrim updated to the latest version. No DLCs required.

Compatibility:
This mod is a simple game setting tweak. Apart from total overhauls like Enderal, it should be compatible with everything. Stuff like SkyTweak might break it though, simply because it works by digging up and overwriting all of the game settings (although SkyTweak might already allow you to modify fFastTravelSpeedMult so you don't really need this mod).

Permissions:

This mod took me 2 minutes in the Creation Kit. You can do whatever the hell you want with it. Feel free to open it up and learn from it.

If anyone wants to port it to SSE, please do so. I can't be bothered.
