Sci-Fi retextures of the display cases. Available as a replacer or modder's resource.

This is a simple sci-fi retexture for display cases. The mod is purely cosmetic: these new display cases do not have any new special features.
Requirements/Conflicts
Three styles to choose from:
Installation
To retexture all display cases in the game, pick your favorite style (Dwemer, Yautja Silver, or Yautja Gold) and download the replacer version. Install it like a normal mod, either using NMM or unzip it into your Data folder. Install only ONE replacer version at a time.
If you're a modder, download the ModdersResource version to get the meshes and textures for all three styles. The ModdersResource version won't affect in-game display cases until you actually use it as part of a mod.
To Uninstall
I recommend installing & uninstalling via NMM, but if you REALLY want to do it manually...
To uninstall a replacer version, delete the following:
Data/Meshes/Clutter/DisplayCases/displaycaselgangled01.nif
Data/Meshes/Clutter/DisplayCases/displaycaselgflag01.nif
Data/Meshes/Clutter/DisplayCases/displaycasesmangled01.nif
Data/Meshes/Clutter/DisplayCases/displaycasesmflag01.nif
Data/Textures/SciFi_DisplayCase
To uninstall/remove the modder's resource version, delete the following:
Data/Meshes/SciFi_DisplayCase
Data/Textures/SciFi_DisplayCase
Credits
Textures were constructed using vanilla Skyrim textures, a screencap from the Predator franchise, plus this image. As far as I can tell, this image has no owner or listed artist, but if I've made a mistake, please let me know. I will either give you credit or pull down the mod, as you prefer.
Permissions
As long as you're not making money from it, feel free to use this mod and its assets however you like! A note for my contribution to your project is always welcome, but I'm not going to be a stickler about it.
Requirements/Conflicts
Probably does NOT work for SSE.I don't have the special edition, so I can't test it myself, but a user was kind enough to give it a try and it seems to work with SSE!- No requirements.
- The replacer versions will conflict with other display case retexture mods.
Three styles to choose from:
- Dwemer: Gold/dwemer metal with a glowing cyan readout using Dwemer letters. If you're trying to stay lore-friendly, this is the one you want.
- Yautja Silver: Intended for users of the Lost Tribes mod (though you don't need Lost Tribes installed to use it). Silver metal with a glowing red readout using Yautja letters. Not remotely lore friendly!
- Yautja Gold: Uses the dwemer color scheme (gold & cyan), but yautja letters. Since the Lost Tribes mod uses a lot of dwemer meshes and textures, this style is meant to offer a little yautja flavor without looking out of place.
