Version 1.5 final draft
Added lots of dialogue to make quest more intuitive and sensible. Added journal entries to give better hints. This is the final version, it will be updated every three days to fix reported bugs if necessary.

Version 1.4 UPDATE 4
Added some dialogue to help get people on track for special ending along with Journal entries. Made it possible to get sword even after you commit to the special ending. Added a little bit of dialogue at a part, I felt was too bland.

Version 1.4 UPDATE 3
Fixed problems pointed out by my friend from the comments section, including a dialogue glitch and with hope a little issue with markers and the dungeon entrance.
Furthermore, made access to dungeon through back-door impossible. And wrote a note that should direct players back to front door.

Version 1.4 UPDATE 2
Updated version 1.4 UPDATE with an esp. that fixes spawn problems in the dungeon, gives more time to a temporary perk, makes all spawn markers face the right way, moves a h image in a book (to look better) and fixes it so that you may finish the quest even if you fail the diplomatic route.

Version 1.4 UPDATE
Uploaded an updated esp to main files, contains some changes that fix a track problem that would have driven people insane.

Version 1.4
Uploaded a file containing everything, including TIF/QF scripts. For anyone who does not want to re-download, just keep using 1.3 A with Scripts file in Miscellaneous. It is the same thing.

I have deleted all traces of my mod from my file, and will be play testing this download today.
Enjoy.

Version 1.3
Added a new file, with scripts being separate. Discovered that you have to add TIF and QIF. Those files are currently in the Scripts folder.

I would just like to take a moment to say this is my first mod. It is a fully fledged quest mod and completely lore friendly.
Why?

Excellent question. For two reasons:
  1.  I am dissapointed in the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

  2. I am dissapointed in the Skyrim modding community

Obviously this would require some explanation, so please see the article linked here.

What?

Tinvaak-Talking with Dragons is a narrative driven quest mod.

Features

  1. A lore-friendly quest. (Playable at all levels. Intended to be played after main quest, but fully functional nonetheless.)
  2. Voice acted dialogue.
  3. Unique (but vanilla assets) weapons and armor.
  4. A small dungeon.
  5. Two books.
  6. Use of the dragon language in Dialogue
  7. Use of scripts for interesting effects
  8. A dragon NPC with dialogue
  9. A unique god shrine that should have been in the game from the start
  10. Smart loot in dungeon (no enchanted daedric armor in ancient nord chests)
  11. Quest perks
  12. Smart AI (NPC will notice your race, weather, vampirism)
  13. Notes and journals.
  14. A focus on storytelling.
  15. A morrowind style follow the Journal entries system
  16. A skill check system
  17. Multiple quest endings.
  18. A dark dungeon (who lights all those braziers, anyway?)

Requirements
Dawngaurd

Permissions and tutorials

Though, I may be getting ahead of myself, there are a few scripts I made for this mod and a few interesting things I did that some people might want to copy.
If you want any of my scripts just ask on the comments or send an email if you’re shy. If you want to copy any of the mechanics or something, then just do the same as above.

Review permissions

All reviewers are welcome to reviewing my mod. Except for the Youtuber known as MxR. My apologies for any trouble in this regard.
Edit: there has been some confusion as to my statement above. I am not saying that I am legally forbidding MxR from reviewing my mod: I simply dissaprove and would prefer it if he did not. He is legally completely free to review this mod. I cannot press charges, nor would I were it possible. I simply am saying that he is not welcome for my own moral reasons.

Special thanks

I must offer my thanks to the following.
-Bestinslot for his tutorials (they gave me somewhere to start)
-Creationkit.com for information (basic as it was)
-Gamerpoets for their tutorial on mod cleaning
-Thu’um.org for the dragon language
-UESP.com for all the information I could want on Elder Scrolls lore
-Bethesda games studios for making a mediocre game
-Aquatic form: without him this mod would be so full of bugs it would be visited by biologists for research expeditions

Donations

I made this because I love the Elder Scrolls world and despise what Bethesda are doing to it, but am nevertheless disappointed with the modding community and their lack of interest in the world. Hence, I do not want any money for this. It is entirely a labor of my own heart.
If you really wish to donate, please send the money, instead, to Fallout: Project Brazil (http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/45138/?) a brilliant fan project that aims to bring Fallout back to the good old Obsidian days with a fully fledged New Vegas Prequel. If not that then consider one of the sites I mentioned as helping me or perhaps even help the refugee crisis by donating to UNHCR (https://donate.unhcr.org/gb-en/europe-crisisutm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=GB_EN_UNHCR_Generic_Causes_Exact&utm_term=donate%20to%20refugee%20crisis&utm_content=Refugees_Donate) I am pretty sure there are some modders out there in the refugee camps or at least those that enjoy Skyrim mods in general. It would be a shame to see them suffer,
especially when they are part of a community that includes ourselves.

Recommended Mods
  1. Any dragon fight mod.
  2. A deadlier trap mod (Edit: Theseus12 recommends this deadlier traps mod:  http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/31799)
My future in Modding
I have only one project left and that is one for Fallout New Vegas. I will start work in the Summer.

Announcments
Announcement 8 (possibly my last): Well, I feel like sh*t, but nevertheless. I managed to get my article out into the open.
It explains everything: why I made the mod: everything.
I am finished with this (unless Aquaticform has found another game breaking glitch) and aside from the tri-daily bug fixing updates, I will retire from this and let Kendovsos tell his story on his own.

Whatever happens now is up to all of you.

Announcement 7: You know, I just watched three mods: one for jiggle physics, one for a teddy bear follower and one for redgaurd whore-slaves (do.not.ask.), come out around the time I made this mod and whoosh past me in endorsements and downloads. I really can't understand it. Is my mod really that bad? Seriously though, if there is some criticism to be had at my mod. Go right ahead. Frankly, if I don't know whats going wrong I can't fix it. Anyway, I was planning to write the article now but apparently god has decided to strike me down for my insolence. I'll get to it in the morning, if I'm not being attacked by a plague of locusts.

Announcement 6: Hi, I'm back and stage 2 is moving along nicely.
Heres, something to thank everyone who helped me with this mod in downloading, endorsing and commenting....and aquaticform who is basically the official tester. I've been coming down with a fever and its been quite a bother. But I will work as best I can, taking my health into account.

Announcement 5: Thank you to everyone who helped in the publishing of this mod. I now believe the mod to be stable enough for me to move on to stage 2 of my plans. Stay tuned.

Announcement 4: It is fixed.
                             It is done.
                             Hallelujah.
Download 1.5 update if you already have 1.5 non ironic version. Or just uninstall and install the ironic version.
Frankly, the fastest method of fixing the issue is by going into your folders and creating a Voice folder to put Tinvaak-talking with dragons.esp Voice file folder into within the Sound folder.

Announcement 3.5: Yeah, turns out the 1.5 file does not have working voice on account of me putting voice files into sound rather than into voice and then into sound (I seriously won't judge if you knock on my door with pitchforks and torches). This error can easily be fixed by opening up where you downloaded the mod and moving tinvaak-talking with dragons.esp (voice files folder not esp) into a folder named voice within the sound folder. Nevertheless, I am uploading an update and so long as the site does not use the will of god against me, it will upload the files in a directory format for the game to recognise.
I will also be re-uploading the 1.5 final draft with the directory fix. Yes, ironic I know.
Until then, here's something to pass the time:

Announcement 3: 1.5 final draft is up and running. This is the final version and hence no more main files will be uploaded. I have rigorously tested it, and it works. But nevertheless, I intend every three days to fix any bugs with an update if necessary. I know I had promised an update to 1.4, however that would require I search all the files manually and due to my lack of time (due to many other responsibilities) and the margin of error, I may not get around to making that update. It will probably be faster for you to download 1.5 final draft. I had also intended to set up a Bsa and esp in the miscellaneous section but Nexus seems to not allow such files under such categories, I have also tried optional but no dice. I will eventually figure something out.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this final version possible.
I hope as many people as possible enjoy this mod and the little story it tells.
I will write that article explaining the mod's true purpose as soon as possible.

Announcement 2: Got the update up and running. Here's hoping I get voice recording finished by today, for the final version release and the final update.

Announcement: I have decided to remodel some of the quest to make it easier and more intuitive while keeping the original structure. This was based on some confusion over the special ending. It was hard to see it, but with a different perspective: it is now blatant. I had only wished the people I had asked, agreed to play test it.
I will be updating this with a 1.4 Update: giving a better journal entry and perhaps a little unvoiced dialogue and the removal of the say only once feature of the "get to the heart of this" dialogue option.
After that, I will work on a voiced dialogue for character 2 giving it a more intuitive design.
This will be uploaded as an update for 1.4 and for a version 1.5, the final version, which will be released either today or early tomorrow depending on whether I am allowed to record given my house-mates noise levels and my level of work.
I have got a video to edit and publish on my channel for 17.00, and a deadline for an essay to meet today. But I should be able to fit it in after 11.00.
Thank you for helping me, help you, to help yourself, to help us all.
