Introduction

During my play through as a Dark Brotherhood assassin I've always wondered why I couldn't assassinate my targets in a quiet, non-violent way. Using weapons, destruction or illusion spells is entertaining but every once in a while I'd like to try something different, so naturally when I first discovered the poisoned perk from the pickpocket skill tree, I got all excited to try the reverse pickpocket poisons technique only to be disappointed later because other NPC's would instantly turn hostile when my target expires and I would get a bounty despite not being in view of the guards, invisible and having 100 skill in sneak. I found a mod which remedies this - Mercy of Sithis by SpardaX98 but was not satisfied with it's implementation so I took the concept and made my own (more detailed) interpretation of the feature.

This mod adds two special types of poisons "Petrichor" and "Summer's Bane"(features two beautiful potion meshes created by jbvw) that will slowly drain the target's health until death. The effect will be silent, non-hostile and painless, the target, other NPC's as well as the guards would never notice a thing. No bounties, no NPC's going apeshit. A perfect kill.

How it works?

Naturally, you're gonna have to acquire the "poisoned" perk from the pickpocket skill tree and in order to successfully pull off this move, because of it's OP nature, you need to have 100 skill in pickpocket. Don't attempt it at a lower skill level - you're gonna have a bad day. The rest is simple - sneak and place the poison in your target's inventory and be on your merry way. Don't worry if you're detected as I've made sure that if you have 100 skill in pickpocket, you'll have 100% chance to perform a reverse pickpocket move and vice-versa.

Crafting

These poisons can be crafted at any cook pot provided that you have the necessary level in Alchemy. 100 for Petrichor and 90 for Summer's Bane. The recipes are as follows:

"Petrichor"
(drains the target's health by 60 points per second for 600 seconds)

1 Jarrin root , 2 Nightshades, 2 Deathbells, 1 Nirnroot and 2 Blue Mountain Flowers.

"Summer's Bane"
(drains the target's health by 5 points per second for 600 seconds)

2 Imp Stools, 2 Deathbells and 2 Red Mountain Flowers.

"Wait, did he say Jarrin root? How the **** are we gonna get it when the game only provides you with 1 and only if you're a member of the Dark Brotherhood?" - You suck.

Hold on now let me finish. To acquire additional Jarrin roots  you need access to the "Atronach Forge" under the College of Winterhold. Simply combine - 1 Crimson Nirnroot & 1 Daedra heart. To create Crimson Nirnroot - combine 1 Nirnroot and 1 Flawless Ruby (for those of you that does not want to traverse the abyss ...erm I meant Blackreach)

Fun facts: "Petrichor" pronounced as
ˈpeˌtrīkôr, is a term used to describe the pleasant smell that frequently accompanies the first rain after a long period of warm, dry weather. That is what I imagine the victim would smell prior to death. As for Summer's Bane - no clue - got that from a random poison name generator and thought it sounded cool.

Limitations

Due to Skyrim not registering the player as the attacker, these poisons will NOT work on targets that are tagged as protected or essential. Note that certain Dark Brotherhood main quest targets are marked as such and will have to be assassinated the normal way. To check whether an NPC is marked simply target them in the console and type "isessential" or "isprotected" (without the quotes). If either of them returns =1 that means these poisons would not work. If there is anyone that could help me with this I'd greatly appreciate it :)~
