This mod changes:
- The Weight of Gold: It now weighs 0.04 pounds per piece.
- Your initial carrying capacity increases by 20 pounds. This is to counter-balance the weight of gold, to allow you a reasonable amount of gold. It isn't a full 80 pounds which would offset the 2000 pieces of gold that the mod expects you to have, because carrying capacity is already somewhat lenient.
- The weight of equipped ARMOR (Helmet, Chestpiece, Boots and Gloves) is halved.
This is the first version of the mod, and it has potential to keep growing and increasing the number of weight changes to items throughout Skyrim. I'd like to add on Arrows/Bolts to the list.
If you find you need places to store your gold before you get a permanent location like a house (a problem I will be running into shortly), I recommend investing in expensive light items. Sadly, this means your resale will cost you about 80-90% of your gold since Skyrim's merchants are a bit ridiculous. If you are looking for an alternative, here is a list of containers that do not reset their contents: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim%3AContainers#Safe_Containers
Compatibility:
This mod should be directly compatible with almost any mod. It adds two perks directly to the player character, which should avoid interference with most mods, and directly changes the weight of gold. The Armor change is a multiplicative value on armor slots, so anything that normally fits on those slots should be reduced by 50%. If you run into problems, please let me know so that I can work on fixing them, or warning others of compatibility issues.
Updates:
1.1: Fixed the armor issue so that ALL Helmets/Chestpieces/Boots/GLoves are reduced, not just Heavy Armor.
1.0: Gold weighs 0.04. HEAVY armor weight was reduced by half. Carrying Capacity increased by 20.
