Simple mods (Original OR Darker for Vampires) that let's you live in Dragonsreach. Regardless if you become Thane or not... It's the most secure location in all of Whiterun. Both outside and inside, so you should never be bothered. Furniture was already up there, so why not use it...
Compatible with every Mod that's doesn't change the upper interior of Dragonsreach.
Completely Immersive, Completely Balanced...
No Quests to complete to live here...

Complete Crafting Area... - except cooking - which you can do in at the fireplace in the kitchen down stairs...

spend $6800 (w/ vanilla crapy bed) to $32,450 gold (Upgraded, which
happens to be a favorite of mine and takes for ever to earn the coin), for a small
cottage in the Plains District or paying $300 a month for a room in a tavern...
Breezehome - I get an Alchemy Lab.... with No Smithing setup and no Enchanter and still
have to have a roommate... Choices... 1+1=0 to download or 1+1=$6800 to $32,450...
Lets see here - Push the roommate off a cliff or marry her ---
where she pays me rent, plus... a little extra every night or live in Dragonsreach free...
