ABOUT THIS MOD

Warburg's wonderful Paper World Map is a must-have in my load order, but it is not compatible with Dragonborn on its own, and his beta addon was plagued by inaccuracies and lacked roads and other features. This mod is an attempt to rectify those issues and thus make adventuring on Solstheim more enjoyable and immersive.

I know it's not Beyond Reach or Summerset Isle, but I had a few requests for a Solstheim map and I wanted to make one myself as, besides the inaccuracies, I was never a fan of the style Warburg chose to use in his. I based the style of my map off of the ingame maps you can find, and I think I managed to preserve the aesthetic without sacrificing accuracy too much. Enjoy

INSTALLATION

-Uninstall Warburg's beta Dragonborn addon if you have it
-Install my map with your favorite mod manager. Alternately, manually extract the data folder to your game directory and approve all folder merges/overwrites.
-Move Paper World Map - Solstheim.esp below any other mod that edits the Solstheim worldspace and activate it.

IMPORTANT: Warburg's plugins as well as my own Paper World Map - Solstheim.esp MUST be loaded after anything that may modify the same worldspaces. If you are getting a messed up camera angle, missing map markers or other issues when viewing the map, check your load order and make sure they are loaded as late as possible.

All of my map plugins should be safe to merge, but please merge them manually via TES5Edit. It's very simple as each of my plugins only changes one or two WRLD records.
For those who insist on using Merge Plugins, do so at your own risk. Some users have reported unsightly bugs. Merging in the following order has been reported to work properly; Falskaar -> Wyrmstooth -> The Gray Cowl -> Solstheim

Always make sure that you backup your existing savegame before adding any mod, mine included

KNOWN ISSUES OR BUGS

  • None other than those caused by Warburg's Paper World Map itself (eg. not being able to place a custom marker accurately)

VERSION HISTORY

  • 1.0.0 - Release
  • 1.0.1 - Fixed the LOD meshes appearing close-up. One of these days I'll remember to do that BEFORE uploading a map...
  • 1.0.2 - Re-positioned mountains and corrected rivers to better represent the geography of Solstheim
  • 1.0.3 - Made a few more changes to the mountains

INCOMPATIBILITIES

Incompatible with any other Solstheim world map replacer (who would have guessed?)
