DESCRIPTION

Have you been disapointed the first time you saw your mighty nord hero arrows ? You collected them on draugr dead bodies, you fought bravely for that, you waited the blacksmith skills to craft them and finally you could make these supa'deadly arrows ! and then ! then... then you noticed almost nothing changed  beside a pale color change T .T 
NOT WITH ME AROUND !
(okay okay i was just blathering a little haha  ! In fact I loved these arrows at first sight and its arrowhead kinda match japanese watakushi arrows, so i was lucky to find that nord hero improvment at the forge xD)

So i did a Retexture, with 4 different colors, to give these arrows the look they finally deserve. So you have Black & white, No paint, Fire Orange or Ultraviolet.

Fire Orange is the look alike arrows i shoot myself in real life, the arrow head away ofc (see who am i part below). In fact, saturated colors on arrows is & was even in middle ages a popular thing. It's extremly useful. 2 things, you can see them better from far distance and estimate easier your aim correction with a good sight ofc, & second you can notice them better to pick them back ! I was so surprised that the 2nd fact works so well in the game ! If you are on survival mod (not much arrows mods) no more extra minutes trying to find those you lost trust me ! Ultraviolet & FireOrange are made for this and are popular arrows at my archery lessons (again, without these creepy arrow head).

Watakushi arrows were japanese fast spinning arrows which were designed to whirl through the flesh & leather (but they sucks at piercing through wood/metal armors). Name that litterally mean "shredding arrows" scarry huh ? Draugr arrowheads are really close to some of them so it was perfect !

Finally the quiver was redone too, with other-armor-friendly metal parts color, with brand new details, and darker tones. I hope you will enjoy it because you can't change it haha ! c'mon no panic it's kinda generic. 

WHO AM I (PLEASE READ)

I am a 31y old skyrim player, also archer & kenjutsu practicer for 10+ years, & finally my job is : comic artist (yup you read that well ! still not popular but still...). I don't know much about creating assets in video games, but i had fun lately to give it a try. Please be indulgent with my "mods" if they can be called so haha. i am a beginner but i also own a perfectionist soul, i spent lot of hours working on this so it could reach some kind of perfect to my eyes ! Try these and if you got any problem (out of matter of taste) please inform me. 

I am a texturer only ! i don't know much about meshes, compiling & stuff, so in general YOU WILL NEED OTHER(S) MODS TO MAKE MINE(S) WORKS (listed just below this). Therefore, if you get these requirment, there should be no problem i like my mods simple and only texture-colors-alpha-normalmaps replacements ! 

If there is any issues with manager auto-install, then try the manual steps (chill ! it's fast & easy!)

MANDATORY MODS

- None should be. But i definitly advise you a vanilla arrow lenght (with longer arrows they will be fine but... not how i imagined them, paint rings and else are stretched in that case). I Advise you also Selective quivers, because they rocks with orcish quiver ! 

INSTALLATION TIPS

- The default color is set on "Fire Orange", i really advise you to appreciate it at least one dj before choosing another, it's beautiful, it's my favourite, & beside its saturation, it's still lore-friendly (i got enb real vision, but i desaturated a little  in tweaks it so im fine). 

- CAREFUL, If you have any texture replacement for nord hero arrows and or even quivers, they will be erased in the process. 

- REMINDER : Private selective quivers 2.4 (the mod i advise a lot around here) is not compatible with longer arrows (sadly) and smaller quivers (sadly again). Im sorry if you made the mistake because of me lately.

- WANTED : I sucks at understanding and compiling meshes in this game. I m looking for someone that could manage to create a mod or a correction as : Orcish from "small quivers" mod "with these Nord Hero Arrows.

MANUAL INSTALLATION (ONLY)

- Create the following folders : Skyrim\Data\textures\weapons\nordhero\ if it doesn't exist already
- Extract the 3 nordheroarrows files in this folder
- If you want another color, pick it up in their respective folder, and copy the one you want to the previous folder & Overrite the old nordheroarrows.dds
- You're done already ! go ! Start your game and try it ! 

STRONGLY RECOMMENDED MODS

- Immersive weapons (A must-have wonderful mod for every skyrim lover that add new weapons & enhance the look of some pre-existing-ones) (here)

- Alternatequivers for immersive weapons (That guy thought that immersive weapon exclusive arrow's quivers had weird look and … he was damn perfectly right) (here)

- REAL Bows (seriously guys these bows rocks some asses ! go for it) (Here)

- Amidianborn book of silence (Our dear Amidianborn that worked on plenty vanilla items, weapons, and armor, the best retextures available IMO, be sure to replace everything with its stuffs, coz nothing beat that) (here)

- Private selective Quivers 2.4 (THAT mod that allows you finally to choose one quiver look and make some of your vanilla arrows stick to it no matter the kind they are !) (here)

- Ultra realistic bow shoot sounds (Finally...you will have a bow shoot that doesn't sound like from teenager movies...) (here)
