Redecorate Breezehome, Honeyside, Hjerim and Proudspire Manor with a variety of wallpapers and floors to suit your own style.

Buy wallpaper and floor catalogues (exclusively available at Belethor's General Goods in Whiterun) and go to your house. Flip through the catalogues to see the designs, exit your inventory and select your choice from the menu. The design will be applied to the area that you're standing in. Where possible and/or reasonable*, rooms and levels can be decorated with different patterns from the rest of the house.

You can change designs as many times as you want and also strip walls and floors back to their original state.

*e.g. Sometimes a single wall or floor can span two rooms, so those two rooms have to use the same design; Some wooden floors have meshes that can only be used with their vanilla textures; Vlindrel Hall can't be redecorated at all because it uses the same stone texture on every surface - changing the walls would apply the same design to the floors and ceiling too.

Compatibility

  • Mods that change the vanilla houses are compatible as long as they don't remove or replace the original walls.
  • Mods that add extra walls to the houses are compatible in the sense that they won't break anything, but the new walls won't be affected by wallpaper changes.

Questions I can see coming...

Why haven't you done the Hearthfire houses?
In theory, it'd be possible (but probably a maddening experience) to add them to the mod. The main reason I haven't is that I don't have appropriate saves to be able to test them. I'd need clean saves with all 3 houses purchased but not yet built.

So why is Hearthfire a required file?

For the childrens' room upgrades.

Why are the geometric patterns wonky on some walls?

Because Bethesda made wonky UV maps. Breezehome is the worst for it, but the other houses are mostly ok.

Can I use my own textures?
Yes. See instructions below.

Can you add wallpapers/floors to x house mod?
No, sorry. The source files are all included though, so you're welcome do it yourself.

Please feel free to make and share custom wallpaper texture packs.

 1. Create the following folders in your Skyrim folder as applicable:
    Data\Textures\InteriorDecorator\Wallpapers\
    Data\Textures\InteriorDecorator\Floors\
    Data\Textures\InteriorDecorator\Catalogue\ImagesWallpapers\
    Data\Textures\InteriorDecorator\Catalogue\ImagesFloors\
 2. Add your textures with this naming structure: 0.dds, 0_n.dds, 1.dds, 1_n.dds, etc... Files that aren't replaced will use the mod's own textures.
 3. To make your new textures display in the catalogue, create a .png of each texture (using the same naming structure as before) and put them in the Catalogue\Images[...] folder. The images need to be 296px squares. I used 294px squares with a 1px black border to make them look a little neater in the books.
