The Crafter's Crypt is a player home I created to satisfy my desire for the perfect home for a crafting-focused character, along with having decent interior lighting and little or no lag.  This is an update over the Crafter's Crypt 2, and requires that you have installed General Storage, Hearthfires, and Dragonborn.

The home includes:
  • Smelter
  • Forge
  • Armor Workbench
  • Grindwheel
  • Alchemy Station
  • Enchanting Station
  • Staff Enchanter (Dragonborn)
  • Imbuing Chamber (Dragonborn)
  • Cooking Spit
  • Oven (Hearthfire)
  • 36 Planters (Hearthfire)
  • Wood Chopping Block with axe
  • Player Bed
  • Free Booze
  • Barracks chamber for up to 8 followers
  • Shrines for each of the nine divines
  • An armory with 8 mannequins, 8 display cases, and 16 weapon racks.
  • Automatic storage containers (General Stores)
  • Fountain of Unburden (General Stores)
  • A display room for artifacts and unique items (General Displays)
  • An anvil which grants the "Crafter's Cogitation" buff once per day, which grants a small bonus to all crafting skills.

Instructions for updating from 2.x or 1.x:
  • Empty out all containers into your character's inventory.  As this may put you over encumbrance, you'll want to either use the tgm command, or install a mod that provides summonable storage.
  • Remove any followers (if any) whom you have set homes for in the crafter's crypt.  Or, at least just make sure they are with you and not in the crypt.
  • Save your game and quit
  • Uninstall Crafter's Crypt 1 or 2.
  • Install Crafter's Crypt 3.
  • Install General Stores and General Displays.
  • Move your items and followers back in.  The Unburden Fountain in the foyer can be used to automatically store away items in the appropriate storage containers.



It is located just outside of Whiterun. Go to the area where Ri'saad and his caravan usually set up camp, and then follow along the the rocks until you find a small waterfall. The entrance will be the sewer grate to the left. A lantern has been set out on top of a barrel to help find it at night.

I'm always open to suggestions for improvements and bug reports.

Update 3.2.1:
  • Included the scripts for the Crafters Crypt Teleport spell and the Crafters Cogitation anvil, which were erroneously omitted from previous versions.
  • Fixed a bug with the Crafters Cogitation anvil which prevents it from working when used on the first day of a new save.

Update 3.2:
  • Placed a glowing light above the Crafter's Cogitation anvil.
  • Moved the entrance a tiny bit.
  • Added a Stone Quarry and Clay Deposit from Hearthfire just outside the entrance.
  • Added a new display room for artifacts and unique items.  You will need to install the General Displays mod.  Items are put on display by placing them in the safe, or in the treasure chest (if you've installed the optional General Stores Patch for General Displays)
  • Finally fixed the display cases not working
  • Cleaned up the .esp in TES5Edit.


Update 3.1:
  • Expanded the planter room, adding a flower bed with insect spawns, two apiaries with bee spawns, and a pool of water with fish and dragonfly spawns.
  • Added an alchemist's mortar from general storage on the alchemy station, which can be used to grind bones into bonemeal, and mammoth tusks into powdered mammoth tusks.
  • Added a panic button in the foyer, which will reset the hueristics of the general stores containers.  Use this if the wrong items are going into the alchemy storage, for example.
  • Rearranged the cooking area to look nicer, and added in a butter churn along with hanging herbs and animals.
  • Added a new spell, Crafter's Crypt Teleport, which will warp you to the foyer room.  The tome for learning this spell can be found on the table in the bedroom.
  • Added an anvil next to the potion bookshelf.  Activating it will cast "Crafter's Cogitation" on you, which grants a 10% bonus to all crafting skills for five minutes.  Crafter's Cogitation can only be used once per day.
  • When you enter the Crafter's Crypt, there is now a doorway to the left, leading to Whiterun's market area, next to the bannered mare.
  • Added a vent above the smelter and the forge, as suggested by dragonsthorn

Update 3.0.1:
  • Fixed planters not working

Update 3.0:
  • Replaced occlusion planes with roombounds
  • Added staff enchanter and imbuing chamber from Dragonborn
  • Added oven and planters from Hearthfire
  • Added automatic storage containers and fountain of unburden from General Storage

Update 2.1.3:
  • Added occlusion planes, which instruct the renderer to ignore out-of-view objects behind the planes.  Should give a small performance boost.
  • NOTE: The previous change to make the crafter's crypt be properly recognized as a player home did not work.  I am not sure what needs to be done to fix this.

Update 2.1.2:
  • The Crafter's Crypt is now properly marked as owned by the player, and so mods that depend on player ownership for some features (such as Autoharvest 2) will work properly with it.
  • Removed the dining tables and their chairs from the barracks chamber and replaced them with a tables that had attached benches, since the chairs were causing seated followers to spaz out from getting embeded in the table when they got up.

Update 2.1:
  • Added proper navmesh to allow followers to enter
  • Added a new entryway with six more chests and a shrine of talos
  • Removed two urns near the main chamber's entryway (something else will replace them later)
  • Replaced the bedroom hallway with an armory featuring 8 mannequins, 8 display cases, and 16 weapon rack mounts.
  • A barracks chamber with beds for up to 8 followers, plus seating and practice targets


NOTES:
