About this mod

Nine unique textures and five new tweaked meshes for Bathing in Skyrim's soaps. Now they look like you might have actually made them with flowers, resins, oils, and soap base in a pot.

In real life, we like luxury care and bath products because they make routine tasks like bathing and cleaning more fun. In Skyrim, personal care is simplified into a resource to manage that steadily depletes. There's not much visual or sensory componant beyond watching your character lather up in a pond or basin somewhere.

So this can add a little variety when you craft, steal, or buy soaps to clean your filthy self.

Requirements:
Skyrim.esm
Update.esm
Bathing in Skyrim - Main.esp

Compatibility:
Anything that modifies the soap objects added by Bathing in Skyrim will overwrite or conflict with this mod. As of yet, I don't think there is any mod that does that. But some future plugin could.

Installation:
Download the mod via NMM and activate it! Be sure it stays below all of its master files.

Uninstallation:
Just deactivate and delete the mod. The .esp doesn't overwrite the original textures or .nifs, just modifies what .nifs and textures mz1n's soap objects reference.

Known Issues:
None, except that there are only nine soaps, which is not as good as more than nine soaps.

Future Possibilities:
This mod was really my introduction to .DDS and .NIF editing, normal maps, environment maps, etc. So in the future I might attempt:
  • Making brand-new soaps with brand-new textures, effects, and maybe even meshes if I can learn Blender.
  • Adding totally new items like mints, deodorant, to freshen up and stop smelling like we hang out with draugr all day.
  • Adding a merchant that possibly sells new, rare soaps. It's a long way to Lush from Skyrim.
  • Making patches for other mods to add Bathing in Skyrim soaps to common compatible mod-added spaces like Showers in Inns or even certain areas in the worldspace so we can see them.
  • Making my own resources, taking high-quality photographs.

Summerwolf, much love.
The excellent Hypatia, whose Wind Waker HD is better than the commercial remaster!
