About this mod
A small fix for jump and land sound effects which come out of nowhere.
- Permissions and credits
The cause was that some jump and land sound effects were outputted as player's footstep sound, which means NPC's jump sounds can be heard from where you stand irrespective of distances from the NPCs.
This mod sets their output model to correct one.
This fix is merged into USLEEP (3.06).
Installation
Via a mod manager or manually merge into the data folder and enable the plugin.
Troubleshooting
Q: It doesn't work for me.
If the other mods add new footstep sounds for NPCs in the same way as the vanilla (using stereo output model), the bug may still occur without
any conflicts.
This is likely done by audio/sound overhaul mods. However, it may be intentionally set so by the author in order to provide realistic/powerful footstep sounds.
It can be checked with CK or Tes5Edit.
1. Open the audio/sound mod plugin.
2. Check if there is any Sound Descriptor for footsteps added by the mod. It is easy as long as they have "footstep" or "FS" in their name.
3. If found any, check the Sound Output Model used for the Sound Descriptor by the following way.
Tes5Edit: If found any of the Sound Descriptors, click one. Hold the Ctrl key and click on their Output Model. It will navigate to the Sound Output Model record.
CK: Open one of the Sound Descriptors. Check the Output Model record. Search for the same record in the Sound Output Model section and open it.
4. Check if the Type is set to "Defined Speaker Output". If so, the bug may occur. You can change it to "Uses HRTF" to fix it .
