SUBTLE BUT EFFECTIVE contrast, saturation, bloom, and sharpen settings for Skryim Enhanced Shaders HDR v1.7 and FXAA Injector v1.3 (the No FXAA version).

These .ini files include settings that adhere more strictly to the artists' original vision to this game while lightly increasing digital vibrancy and clarity in all types of outdoor and indoor scenery.

Pogo's Subtle Skryim Enhanced Shaders HDR v1.7 Settings:
These HDR shaders and settings developed by ENBseries developer Boris Vorontsov ( www.enbdev.com ) and the legendary Tapioks of Fallout Enhanced Shaders fame bring a very fresh (and customizable) visual taste to the vistas and dungeons and Skyrim. I highly recommend using this (and only this) modification.

My settings differ from Tapioks default in order to achieve the following:
- Add slight sharpening to the scene to increase texture clarity in close-up details and far away rocky mountains
- Add slight color saturation to the increase contrast of the scene in order to increase digital vibrancy (but not overdone, if you want to overdo it, then feel free to allow bloom saturation yourself)
- Create a nighttime and dark dungeon space that is still visible and navigable, but dark enough that using a torch, night vision, or mage light is an almost-necessary but very warm and atmospheric method of searching for loot. Darkness has gameplay implications without being hard to see without it.
- Make nighttime light sources "pop" with a little extra bloom and shininess... the effects of the light off of your armor while holding a torch are particularly pronounced
- Increased contrast in all scenes
- Removed sunglare from the creator's version of this modification (if you want the sunglare, feel free to download Tapiok's original files, and then overwrite with my settings files from my downloads section).

Installation:
Package: All files go into the base Skyrim directory (most likely \Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim )
Settings Files Only: Both files overwrite the already existing files from the original installation.

If you have FXAA installed:
Simply rename the D3D9.dll file already in your directory to something else (or copy it or delete it).

Troubleshooting and performance tips (particularly for ATI users):
Please read the excellent and descriptive Troubleshooting section of the mod's authors here:
Skryim Enhanced Shaders

If it's too dark:
Increase your in-game Brightness setting found in Settings > Display. This is the #1 way to handle the "darkness" issue without compromising the work gone into adjusting the contrast levels and saturation of game colors with this mod.

Pogo's Subtle FXAA Settings:
(updated for FXAA 2.0)

These settings create a slightly warmer atmosphere to the game without overdoing the sharpening aspects, and without puking blue food dye coloring all over your game. I set out to correct settings made by other users who seem to love to overdo the tonemap setting while keeping other crappier color methods activated from the original mod (including sepia and technicolor... blah). Note that I believe FXAA has been eclipsed by the HDR mod and I include it only for people who choose not to run Skyrim Enhanced Shaders.

Instructions:

If you have not yet installed the Post Process Injector Mod and are unsure of how to do so:
Download the FXAA Injector mod v1.3 here:
FXAA Injector v1.3
Follow his installation instructions (manual or automatic, doesn't matter)

Navigate to your Skyrim directory, most likely \Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim

Replace injFX_Settings.h with my file
