With this mod, you can destroy the Dark Brotherhood as a Good Alignment Character. With adoptions from the beginning and Penitus Oculatus Enhancement.

Synopsis:

This mod is about Role-playing.
In the original game, to be able to contact the Dark Brotherhood to destroy them, you need to accomplish a nonsense quest. Therefore, you have an absurdly limited choice in the original game.

This mod allows you to completely destroy the Dark Brotherhood, as a Good person, as a Good Alignment Character. In Lore-friendly way. In dialog-friendly way. With fair reward from the Elite Imperial organization of personal security and espionage force for the Emperor - the Penitus Oculatus.

All innocent people will be alive.
Grelod the Kind will be alive. This mod makes her much more kinder. Dialogues in the orphanage were changed. Thus, the atmosphere in the orphanage has significantly changed, which is very noticeable. You can visit the orphanage and adopt children from the orphanage as well as other children, from the beginning of the game. Only thing you need is a child's bedroom in your house. Added option to donate to the orphanage.

This mod enhances the Penitus Oculatus faction, their outpost interior, adds Penitus Oculatus unique Katana in the game, and making them your friends becomes very beneficial.

Dark Brotherhood Destruction Quest is high-level quest, with high-level enemies and high-level reward. To start the quest you will need some time, for it will start by original game encounter.

Many other improvements were made.

Aventus deserves, for his deed, not to return into an orphanage, but go to asylum. Horrible little git.

In original game, Grelod the Kind is a really old woman, who all her life is taking care of the kids that are not hers. She definitely was the Kind, but now she is about 80 years old, tired of life she has, and kids, that she takes care of with young Constance, do not follow the rules and also made a "I don't like Grelod" club. She gives them home, base care and food nevertheless. But she is really old lady, who must keep discipline. She does this as she can in her age. When no other cares. She deserves retirement for her hard life. But no one cares about orphanage and old woman with orphan kids.

Let's look at Grelod related phrases and her schedule in the original game.
"Those who shirk their duties will get an extra beating.". This phrase can give you a feeling that she is a bad person. Think about this: isn't this just a words of intimidation to make her charges to listen and make their duties?
Constance: "Grelod runs this orphanage because she's old, and set in her ways, and doesn't know any other life.".
All her life. On the other side, there is Constance, who is kind, because just came there as a volunteer assistant. Good for her, caring is in her hands now.
Grelod:"We haven't had an adoption in months. At this rate, we'll be stuck with these brats forever."
In this case, her words in the orphanage scene in original game are no more than her hopeless rage about this fact:
Grelod:"Nobody needs you, nobody wants you. That, my darlings, is why you're here.".
Horrible situation. Raging Civil war is tearing Skyrim indeed.
This is Grelod's schedule in the original game:
"Grelod spends her entire day surrounded by the children, from the time she wakes up at 5 am until she goes to bed at 1 am. ...she isolates herself in her room or wanders restlessly around the orphanage, occasionally cooking a meal at the cooking pot in the sleeping area. At 10 am she escorts the four children outside to the small yard behind the house and watches them play for a single hour. At 3 pm, the orphans are allowed a one-hour meal and Grelod will join them.". Every day, all her life, she is an orphanage keeper.


Do not worry, this mod makes her much more kinder. Dialogues in the orphanage were changed. Thus, the atmosphere in the orphanage has significantly changed, which is very noticeable. You can visit the orphanage and adopt children from the orphanage as well as other children, from the beginning of the game. Only thing you need is a child's bedroom in your house.

Added option to donate to the orphanage:

  • Please, take this, for the kids (50 gold).
  • I want to replenish and buy a bigger food storage for the Orphanage (1000 gold).
  • I want to buy books for kids to read and new doll for a girl as well (500 gold).
  • I want to buy floor pelts, for comfort and warmth of the kids (500 gold).

Talk with Constance Michel about charity. You will receive Gift of Charity effect for every donation and will become a friend of a Constance.
Yard behind the orphanage was improved: added action markers, little garden with flowers and chickens. Kids playing in yard for 4 hours now, 2 hours without Grelod. Disabled chains and dirt inside, added action markers. Small room is a storage.


Now, you can destroy all the Dark Brotherhood members (except for Babette. No explanations needed. Take as constant condition, that she ran away, but Vigilants of Stendarr have caught this 300 years old vampire, when she tried to run out from Skyrim. And this is no more Dovahkiin's business.) and leader. 
You can't destroy Night Mother as being according to the Lore, but you can weaken her evil spirit by destroying the spawn shade, that will appear once you attack the unholy corpse, thus making that Black Sacraments will not be heard in near future in Skyrim.

Fire and Darkness: The Brotherhoods of Death — by Ynir Gorming
Mephala directly helped to found the infamous cult/society of the Morag Tong, and they claim to murder for the daedra's glory. Some scholars also argue that when the Morag Tong was banished from the rest of Tamriel, they were allowed to continue to operate in Morrowind when they replaced their worship of Mephala with that of Vivec. As a reaction to this, the Dark Brotherhood was formed, being led by the mysterious Night Mother, who some insist is just another form of Mephala.

The Morag Tong continues, as we know, to worship Sithis. The Dark Brotherhood is not considered a religious order by most, merely a secular organization, offering murder for gold. I have seen, however, proof positive in the form of writs to the Brotherhood that Sithis is still revered above all.
So where, the reader, asks, is the cause for the schism? How could a silent war have begun, when both groups are so close? Both assassin's guilds, after all, worship Sithis. And yet, a figure emerges from history who should give those with this assumption pause.
The Night Mother.
Who the Night Mother is, where she came from, what her functions are, no one knows. Carlovac Townway in his generally well-researched historical fiction 2920: The Last Year of the First Era tries to make her the leader of the Morag Tong. But she is never historically associated with the Tong, only the Dark Brotherhood.
The Night Mother, my dear friend, is Mephala. The Dark Brotherhood of the west, unfettered by the orders of the Tribunal, continue to worship Mephala. They may not call her by her name, but the daedra of murder, sex, and secrets is their leader still. And they did not, and still do not, to this day, forgive their brethren for casting her aside.


Quest will start, when Dark Brotherhood assassin will attack you and you will find the note in his inventory and read this note. This is a random encounter from the original game. Can spawn anytime anywhere. In the note in assassin's inventory, which is from original game as well, you will find some interesting phrase. So, there is no "invention of a bicycle": in original Skyrim itself, this organization gives you a very noticeable reason to not ignore them.

Description of the stages of the quest:

I. Dark Brotherhood sent assassin to kill me. I can not ignore this organization now. Fortuitously, I've heard about Dark Brotherhood and their Sanctuary on the west of the Falkreath, near some ancient Nordic ruins, from one imperial officer, who, also, talked about generous reward for the destruction of this terror of Tamriel. Hmm, there is one interesting phrase in this letter...

II. I have infiltrated in the Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary and destroyed the Dark Brotherhood leader and its members. I should now report this to the Imperial court. I heard about small outpost of the Imperial organization of personal security and espionage force for the Emperor - The Penitus Oculatus - in Dragon Bridge. I think, that they already know about this deed...

III. I destroyed the Dark Brotherhood, terminated this terror of Tamriel, and was rewarded for my efforts.


Now, about the Penitus Oculatus.

The Penitus Oculatus was formed as the Emperor’s espionage and bodyguard organization, presumably soon after the Oblivion Crisis, as the Blades abandoned their role as Imperial bodyguards with the death of the Dragonborn Emperors. The Penitus Oculatus gained greater duties and importance following the Great War and the dissolution of the Blades dictated by the White-Gold Concordat.
It can be said, that Penitus Oculatus are the Blades after the dissolution. Organization, that have their technologies, while being servant to Imperial policy. The Elite organization of the Empire.

In this mod they are also Battlemages, who came from recruited members of the dissolved in 4th Era Mages Guild who preferred to serve the Empire. Their faction is cognate with the Vigilants of Stendarr in this mod.


Now, about the Penitus Oculatus reward.

The quote from the Commander Maro about the reward:
"By all I hold holy... Can it be true? Have you actually done it? This is a great day, my friend. You have struck a blow against darkness that will not soon be forgotten! Here, as promised - a most generous reward.".

You've terminated the terror of the Empire (remains of this organization) and deserve a generous reward indeed.
Reward for the quest will be 25.000 septims and Penitus Oculatus personal armoury access, as gesture of appreciation. You will become the honorable friend of the Empire, and, specifically, of this organization.

Penitus Oculatus Katana description: "Katana of the Imperial organization of personal security of the Emperor. Special alloy makes this weapon lightweight and effective against undead. Cause bleeding".
This is Katana without the tsuba. Penitus Oculatus removes tsuba for the sake of the attack speed. Tsuba is the decoration of the katana, not the guard.
Increased attack speed, effective against undead (mainly made for Requiem (here, you can find a patch) and Revenge of the Enemies, where any normal weapon proves almost useless against undead. Weapon of this Elite organization must be effective against any creature), bleeding (scorching for undead) damage.


Now, about the Dark Brotherhood members and Sanctuary

Members of the Dark Brotherhood were made more strong (or why would Elite Imperial organization did not destroy them for the moment of the quest).
You should prepare for the hard battle. Don't think to destroy this organization easily. These remains are supposed to be the strongest members of this organization.


Leader of the Dark Brotherhood, Astrid. Vampire (remember this, especially if you play Requiem version), increased stats, increased speed, Ancient Shrouded Armor, Blade of Woe, fortifying potions, Level 60, strong perks. Will not stay on one spot if you'll try to exploit range attacks, now, she has powerful ranged vampire drain. You can tell clearly now, who the Leader of this organization. Has Summon Spectral Assassin spell book and other interesting things.
Arnbjorn, werewolf. Highly increased heath, stamina, werewolf immunity abilities, Storm Ebony Battleaxe, fortifying potions, Level 50.
Cicero, Keeper of the Dark Brotherhood. Werewolf. Much more stronger and much more demented than any other. Highly increased stats, personal Unique armor, Level 50, werewolf immunity abilities, fortifying potions, poisons, high-tier dagger, Muiri's Ring (Dark Brotherhood members do contracts, don't they). Has two samples of unique poisonous lotus extract (empowered, lingering poison). Knows the secrets of Dawnstar Sanctuary. You will have an access to the Dawnstar Sanctuary, when you will obtain the Final Volume of jester's Journal.
Veezara, a Shadowscale, in past, an assassin in service to the King of Black Marsh, now, last remaining member of his extinct order. Trained by the Dark Brotherhood since the day of hatching. Two high-tier daggers, increased stats, fortifying potions, high-tier poisons, Level 50. Now you will see that he is a Shadowscale... by not seeing him.
Gabriella. Vampire, increased stats, conjures high-level atronach, Storm Glass Bow and Glass arrows, fortifying potions, Level 50. I was surprised, that this mental creature is not a vampire in the original game... Distract with conjured creature, while attacking from the range.
Festus Krex. Insane mage. Increased stats, fortifying potions, Level 50, strong magic perks, high-level spells. Be very careful. Has unique ring Nightweaver's Band.
Nazir. Assassin from the deserts of Hammerfel. Weild the unique Scimitar Windshear, has increased stats, fortifying potions and scrolls, Level 50.
Lis. Frostbite spider.
You can find the satchel with alchemical supplies that belonged to the runaway Vampire alchemist.
You can find a Night Mother's coffin in Sanctuary, which will be locked on high-level lock. If you will unlock it, you can attack the unholy undead. Be very careful.

Black Soul Gems, which are Filled, which you can find in the remains of the Shade, represent the fallen Dark Brotherhood members' black souls, consumed by the Night Mother, upon their death.


Inside of Sanctuary you can find Dragon Shout Marked for DeathUnusual Gem and other interesting things.

Members have schedules now and will wonder in Sanctuary. So, some can be nearby entrance (and attack you simultaneously and together) or can be in some place in Sanctuary. This aspect is about luck.

In original game, when original DBDestroy quest script starts, game adds you to DBFaction (nonsense), to pass through Black Door. Condition getfactionrank DB in original = -1 (was in faction for a time), but this is unacceptable for the my mod idea. Now, your getfactionrank DB will be = -2 (not in faction).

Cleaned Master-files. Contains USLEEP fixes, without USLEEP requirement.

Constance and Grelod are set Essential. Constance letter is now in almost every inn as well as in temples of Kynareth, Mara and the Temple of the Divines. One copy is near Orphanage (I could have added a couple of symbols in the script to make courier come, but decided to not touch main Hearthfire DLC scripts, thus, making my mod fully compatible with Multiple Adoptions.). You don't really need to read the letter to be able to adopt. You just need a house with child's room to be able to adopt.

Quest on the farm in now disabled. Farmers can sleep calmly.

You can hear the dialog about the jester at the stables, but it will not trigger the quest.

Entrance inside of Dawnstar Sanctuary. Fight against Sanctuary guardians and unique troll Udefrykte. High-level chest in the end of the dungeon is waiting for you.

You can find a hidden treasure in the Hag’s End, from the beginning of the game.

Penitus Oculatus AI improved.

Abandoned shack is now an abandoned building for real.

Turn off Don't Push Me While I'm Talking for the time of doing this quest, there is a known collision bug with Sanctuaries caused by this mod.
If you have Immersive horses, it will make, due to forced scripts, that jester’s horse will appear near the farm, even if you will place this mod last. Non-critical. Allows you to obtain the Dark Brotherhood saddle.
Use The Choice is Yours - Fewer Forced Quests to prevent forced miscellaneous rumor quest start.

You can find the Hag’s End Dark Brotherhood Assassin from the beginning of the game. Olava's Token (which is a gem now) on Gabriella.

Added the letter from Delvin Mallory to Astrid.
Nightweaver's Band unique ring at Festus Krex, “Sneaking is 20% better. Destruction spells cost 20% less to cast. Illusion spells cost 20% less to cast.”. Festus also possesses the unique “Uncommon Taste - Signed” book by The Gourmet.
Astrid’s Blade of Woe now is more powerful, with highest tier Health Absorption enchantment and fixed keyword (as in WAFR, daedric).

Q: Where I can find Dark Brotherhood assassin?
A: Nowhere. Assassin will find you. This is a random wilderness encounter from the original game, you can walk along the roads and wilderness to increase the chance of assassin's attack. (or, read under the spoiler).
Q: Why is this quest is so hard now? Why they all heal and buff themselves!? Why they have so high stats? Why they have so high-tier equipment?
A: Calm down and use some tactic. Train before the quest.
Q: I have question about adoptions.
A: Yes, you can adopt children. From the orphanage as well. Multiple Adoptions friendly.

Type this in the console: player.additem 10596a 1 - this will add the letter in your inventory. Read it. This will start the quest.
But, know that this is raw and unloaded version of the letter, so it will be almost empty.

If you want more appropriate variant, I suggest you to walk, for example, along the Whiterun - Rorikstead road until the attack. There are about 7-8 spots of random encounters.


Do not use this mod if you do not plan to destroy DB in this mod's way. This mod changes scripts and original DB quests will not start as in original (since you do not need them). Mod works perfectly stable.
