This is a simple mod that adds craftable gold to the game. I found a few but none of them fit my taste so I made my own.

<br />It creates a two recipes in the forge under the misc. category to make gold coins. A gold ore will yield 50 coins and a gold ingot will yield 100 gold coins. Also added a recipe to the smelter to be able to create a gold ingot from 100 gold coins. The recipe for smelting the gold ingot will not appear unless you have at least 100 gold coins.
