This mod allows you to use the Animated Dwarven back packs by mahty to ACTUALLY FLY, using the controls and mechanics from Real Flying by Anton0028 and its addon Edda by Enai Siaion.  The back packs need to be crafted, and it comes in three versions:

Hard Crafting Requirements:
  • Dwarven Smithing
  • Arcane Blacksmith
  • Ancient Knowledge (hint: talk to the Argonian at Riften's docks)
  • 1 Centurion Dynamo Core
  • 1 Common Soul Gem (Lesser for Legs)
  • 4 Dwarven Ingots (2 for Legs)
  • 2 Leather Strips

Easy Crafting Requirements:
  • Dwarven Smithing
  • 1 Lesser Soul Gem (Petty for Legs)
  • 2 Dwarven Ingots (1 for Legs)
  • 2 Leather Strips

REALLY Easy Crafting Requirements:
  • Spawn them yourself through console!
Enchantments:
Along with their flying ability each back pack has a unique enchantment:
  • Aether - Increases Magicka Regeneration by 50%
  • Aether Legs - Increases Magicka by 30 points each leg
  • Boost Legs - Increases Stamina Regeneration by 25% each leg
  • Cannon - Fortifies Archery by 20 points
  • Copter - Allows Waterwalking and the ability to reach higher heights
  • Orbit - Creates a magical ward when blocking (like Spellbreaker)
  • Recon - Fortifies Sneak by 30 points
  • Wing - Increases Stamina Regeneration by 70%, allowing longer flight

Normal (non-flying) Back Packs:
I've also added non-flying versions of each back pack, which grant +50 Carry Weight each, have slightly weaker enchantments, and have lower crafting requirements:
  • Dwarven Smithing
  • 1 Centurion Dynamo Core
  • 1 Common Soul Gem (Lesser for Legs)
  • 2 Dwarven Ingots (1 for Legs)
  • 2 Leather Strips
And they don't require a core or soul gem in the Easy version

And also there's the Dwarven Buddy Drone which increases Smithing by 20 points when equipped.


Installation/Requirements:
The only master for this mod is Edda, but it requires the asset files from Animated Dwarven back packs and Real Flying, so...

Notes:
  • Controls from are Edda.  Hold forward (W) and then press jump (space) to start gliding and you will eventually go into flight mode. Once in flight mode you can press run (shift) to fly up, or hold space to float down. Sometimes it gets confused what mode you're in when jumping, so you might need to press space a couple times.
  • You cannot use the original Winged Ability from Real Flying (or Edda) alongside the flying back packs.  I could enable the ability, so that you have wings and the back packs, but some aspects of it conflict with the back packs at this point.  I just need to figure out a way to logically combine the two, shouldn't be too hard.
  • For the Flying Leg Packs, you need both legs to fly

Versions:
1.0:
  • Patched Animated Dwarven Back Packs to activate the flying ability from Edda - Real Flying when worn
  • Added hard and easy crafting requirements to the back packs
  • Tweaked the original back pack enchantments
  • Changed the equipment slots for the back packs, leg packs, and drone to more standard slots (47 for back, 49/53 for legs, 60 for pet)
  • Tweaked the flying upgrades from Edda so most are gained automatically from wearing the back packs (some upgrades are specific to certain back packs)
  • Disabled the wings and wing upgrades from Real Flying and Edda
  • Added non-flying back packs which add a carry weight bonus and have lower crafting requirements
