About

I love Saerileth's mod, Barenziah's Glory.  And I love FiendishGhoul's modded version of that mod, Barenziah's Glowing.  In particular, I loved the new colors that FiendishGhoul made for the stones.  In fact, I loved them so much that I couldn't choose which one to use.  So I altered the crown mesh so that I could choose a different color for each stone.  Yay rainbow crown!

Of course that left the problem of how to get the 24 multi-colored stones into the world (because the 24 'unusual gems' are technically one form & you can't have different versions of the same form).  So I made the 'Unusual Gem' activator into a table and placed a static version of the different color stones on top (6 different colors, 4 of each).  You can pick up the stone by activating the table it's sitting on.

So now (if using the default options) you will find blue gems, green gems, orange gems, red gems, purple gems and yellow gems.  I think it definitely makes finding the stones more interesting!

And now FiendishGhoul, Saerileth and Gamwich have kindly given me permission to share my adaptation of their wonderful mods.  I am forever grateful to you all.

The crown and stones are available in various different combinations:

Different colors

Default (rainbow) edition:

This adds blue, green, orange, red, purple and yellow stones to the world and to the crown.  I love rainbows.  But I know this won't be everyone's thing, which is why I made two alternative editions.

Inner Sea edition:

Channel the inner sea god/goddess/horker/slaughterfish within, with this sea-themed crown and stones.  This optional file replaces the default rainbow textures with a crown and stones in purples, blues and greens.

Red Mountain edition:

Harness your inner flame atronach with this volcanic eruption of reds, oranges and yellows, replacing the default rainbow textures.

Different gem arrangements

Default (symmetrical):
The two sides of the crown will match.

Asymmetrical:
The two sides of the crown will be different (same colors used, but in different positions in the crown).  Works with any of the color editions above.

The 25th Stone

Where DID that 25th stone come from?  There are 25 slots but only 24 to collect!  I also modified Saerileth's empty crown model so that it now contains a single stone (like the USLEEP fix, but with Saerileth's/FiendishGhoul's beautiful gem models & textures).

FAQ

Why can't I activate/pick up the stones?
You need to activate the table it's sitting on, not the stone itself.  Then you can pick it up.  It was the only way I could get multi-colored stones to appear in the world.

Why do I need to install Barenziah's Glory and Barenziah's Glowing, as well as this mod?
Multi-Colored Barenziah's Glowing just contains the crown meshes and textures adapted from Barenziah's Glowing.  It does not contain the jewellery box meshes or texture normal maps included in the other two mods.  However Multi-Colored Barenziah's Glowing makes use of these assets.  So you need to install all three.

Why does this mod have an esp?
It's needed to add multi-colored gems to the world.  If you don't want all that, and just want the rainbow crown, feel free to delete/deactivate the esp.  But say GOODBYE to immersive immersiveness!  Because the gems you find will all be one color.  I suppose when the crown is put back together the gems could magically change color because it's magic and all that.  Whatever helps you sleep at night.

Does this mod contain scripts?
It contains one extremely tiny, three-line script, added to each of the 24 vanilla gem activators.  Which basically says, when the table is activated, disable the static gem sitting on it.  That's literally it.  I shouldn't think it'll push your heavily scripted game over the edge.

Credits & thanks

  • FiendishGhoul for Barenziah's Glowing, and for allowing me to adapt & use his amazing glowing crown and jewellery box meshes and colored gem textures and share them with you.

  • Saerileth for Barenziah's Glory, the original mod which Barenziah's Glowing is based on.  See the Barenziah's Glowing page for full credits.  In particular, FiendishGhoul adapted Saerileth's barenziahscrowncomplete.nif and barenziahscrowncompletewithstand.nif (the completed crown), which I have in turn adapted from FiendishGhoul.  I have also adapted Saerileth's barenziahscrown.nif (the empty crown) to include a single gem as mentioned above.  Thank you to Saerileth for giving me permission to share this mod with you.

  • Gamwich for the textures included in Barenziah's Glory and Barenziah's Glowing and adapted for use in this mod.  Thank you to Gamwich for his permission to share this mod with you.

  • Icecreamassassin for his infinite patience, invaluable Blender tutorial and great idea for the 'closed box' in inventory.

  • Oaristys and Tony67 for their Modder's Resource Pack, from which I have used the TrBarenziahBoxClosed.nif resource (the closed box model in the player's inventory).
