About this mod

This is a small selection of patches meant to work together to make Immersive Weapons, Katana Crafting, and Lost Longswords a little more compatible by removing some duplicates and renaming a few others. There is also a Weapons and Armor Fixes Remade patch for KC and LL.

Introduction

After playing with the mods Immersive Weapons, Katana Crafting, and Lost Longswords I realized that there was some overlap in weapons they provided. I decided to make my own patches. The current files affect Immersive Weapons and Katana Crafting with permission from their respective authors as no assets will be hosted here and you still have to download the original mods. I am still waiting to hear back from MrBrownstone the author of the Lost Longswords mod but that may be awhile as I don't know if he comes to the Nexus much anymore. However, the WAFR patch for that mod + Katana Crafting has now been uploaded anyway as it again would still requires that mod to be downloaded, is only a patch and does not use any of the author's assets at all.

With all that being said this is what the files do:

Description

Weapon Consolidation Patch.esp

This starts by renaming all of the Longswords in Immersive Weapons into Claymores. I know what you may be thinking, "BUT THOSE AREN'T CLAYMORES!" Well no not in the traditional Scottish Claymore sense but that's not the point. I needed a term to differentiate between the Longswords that are in both mods. IW makes them two handed swords sheathed on the back. LL provides Longswords that can be drawn from the hip. There are different arguments about this but it is mainly the case that Longswords could be drawn from the hip but were meant to be used with two hands. This is just a limitation of how Skyrim is set up. Claymores were typically a little bit longer than Longswords although they looked similar (and they are both much shorter than true Greatswords hence the name change. This was also the simplest answer to address duplicates that had different models. You could make all of the longswords bigger, but then you would have duplicate names with different models. For possible future compatibility with the Lore Weapons mod this also renames the Eastern Dwemer War Axe into the Easter Dwemer Power Axe.

The second change is that all of the Steel and Daedric Katanas, Dai-Katanas, Wakizashis, and Tantos in IW now use the models from the Katana Crafting mod. The Steel versions now stand out much more from the Iron variants and the Daedric versions have the very cool animated red stripe. In addition all of the weights from the KC mod for these 8 weapons were carried over.

Katana Crafting.esp  (replacer esp patch)

This is to be used with the Weapon Consolidation Patch.esp and basically all it does is two things. It removes the 8 weapons (Steel and Daedric variants) from Katana Crafting. They aren't needed here as the records from Immersive Weapons are now using their models. For additional compatibility with IW all of the Dai-Katanas have now been renamed Nodachis which is more fitting as they are technically the same but Nodachi is a term from history whereas Dai-Katana is more of a modern video game term.

WAFR - WCP Patch.esp

This patch modifies both Katana Crafting and Lost Longswords to mirror the material changes found in the True Daedric and True Orcish sections of Weapons and Armor Fixes Remade. Damage has been lowered slightly for some of the Katana mod weapons in favor of a speed increase as they are much lighter now. Lost Longswords has many similar material changes. You can check them all out in TES5Edit if you want. This file should also work well with the changes made in the Immersive Weapons - WAFR Patch available on the Nexus which I also recommend.
