This adds the beautiful Minerva follower to your game.
She is a standalone follower which means no other mods will be required.
She is fully voiced using the Female Elf Haughty voice type, which has no follower dialogue in vanilla Skyrim, with over 200 lines of dialogue.
These include: more friendly greetings, appropriate follower responses, combat dialogue, general idle comments, comments on certain quests, and more. She is not your typical snobby, arrogant, stuck-up High Elf. She's quite polite and affectionate towards the player, but is very cynical and degrading of her enemies.
She also comes with her own MCM with features such as: the ability to customize some of her dialogue, teleport her instantly to your location, let other Female Elf Haughty NPCs use her dialogue, completely customize how she will behave in combat and which type of weapons she will use, and more!
There are also compatible versions for AFT, EFF, iAFT, FLP, and UFO that you can easily select in the FOMOD during installation.
You also have the option to recruit Minerva through her own follower system in v1.2+, allowing you to have more than 1 follower (if you're using the vanilla follower system), or allow her to follow you if you're using an unsupported follower overhaul.
You can change her hair style in the MCM in v2.5+. Open the spoiler below to see how to change it!
FISS support has been added in v1.2a+.
Want to see/hear her using the dialogue in game? There is a video in the "videos" tab showcasing her, and her dialogue, in game!
Confused about some of the MCM options? There is a video in the "videos" tab where I explain all the MCM options in more detail! (v1.0 & v1.1)
Want to see how you can customize her combat style? There is a video in the "videos" tab where I demonstrate how you can customize her, in game!
What's new in v2.0/v2.5:
:Hard Requirements: (You MUST have these installed otherwise your game will CTD upon start-up)
:Soft Requirements: (These are not "technically" required, but the mod basically doesn't work without them)

:General Information about Minerva:
- Race: High Elf
- Voice: Female Elf Haughty
- Leveling: 5 - No Max.
- Marriageable: Yes
- Class: Custom Spellsword (By default, but can be changed in the MCM. See the ReadMe tab for info on her different classes)
- Primary Skills(As a Spellsword Class): Destruction, Sneak, Alteration, One-handed, Light Armor
- Combat Style: Custom Style (Detailed explanation below)
- Starting Spell List:
------- Custom Grand Healing
------- Lightning Bolt
------- Custom Stoneflesh
------- Fast Healing
------- Custom Ironflesh
------- Custom Fireball (Same power as vanilla Fireball, but with no area of effect damage. Basically, a more powerful Firebolt.)
------- Custom Chain Lightning (Same power as vanilla Chain Lightning, but with no area of effect damage. Basically, a more power Lightning Bolt.)
------- Custom Ebonyflesh
- All her spells can be completely customized in the MCM
You can now teach Minerva spells through spell tomes in v2.0+, see the video in the spoiler for more information
:Custom Combat Style: (By default)
Minerva has her own combat style that is more aggressive than most. Meaning, she will usually be constantly attacking and rarely try to defend herself.
This makes her very powerful against a single opponent but weak against an organized group where she gets surrounded in close quarters.
At distance, she will attack using her destruction spells in both hands.
In close quarters she will attack using her one-handed weapon in one hand, and a destruction spell in the other.
She will often circle around an enemy when up-close, and sometimes will step back to cast a spell or launch a power attack.
She is smarter than many other followers when facing enemies that are equipped with shields in close quarters.
Often, she will perform a power attack with her one-handed weapon when an enemy has their shield raised to break their block, instead just hitting the shield with normal attacks.
Also, when an enemy is staggered and momentarily defenseless, she will perform normal attacks to do some damage instead of wasting her stamina performing power attacks.
v1.1+ allows you completely customize her combat style in the MCM!
- Choose which type of weapon she will use: Melee, magic, ranged (bows/crossbows), magical staffs, and even her bare fists.
- Control how aggressive she will be in combat. Make her always want to attack or always defend or a combination of both.
- Minerva can be the smartest or dumbest follower in combat, simply adjust her intelligence levels for the different situations of combat.
- See the first video on the description page, or find it in the "videos" tab uploaded by the author for explanations and demonstration of this.
:To best make use of her combat style, here is what I recommend: (By default)
- Give her a strong sword, mace, or axe with an enchantment on it such as: absorb health or fire damage.
- Give her the best set of light armor you can. You wouldn't use a weak set of light armor, right? So, don't make her use it either.
- Give her some health potions. She can be too aggressive in combat sometimes and go down fairly quickly.
- Do NOT give her bows and arrows. Her archery skill is very low, and she will rarely, if ever, use a bow in combat.
- Do NOT give her a shield. Her block skill is very low, and she will rarely, if ever, use a shield in combat.
- Do NOT give her a two-handed weapon. She's great with one hand, not so much with two.
That's just my recommendation, you can give her whatever weapons and armor you want.
v1.1+ allows you change her class so her skills can match the type of weapon/magic you want her to use in combat!
- Minerva has 11 different classes that you can choose from in MCM!
- Details of each class can be found in the "Read Me" tab.
Updating to v2.5:
Before updating, I recommend dismissing Minerva if she's currently following you. You should safe to upgrade to v2.0/v2.1. BUT! I highly recommend keeping a save with the previous version of Minerva installed just be safe.
Use Mod Organizer (Highly Recommended!) or Nexus Mod Manager and simply install using the FOMOD.
I recommend creating 2 saves before installing Minerva.
Save #1 is a back-up save that has your most recent progress just before installing Minerva.
Save #2 is the save you will load when you have Minerva installed.
If, for some unforeseen reason, Minerva causes major problems for your game. You can unistall the mod, delete save #2, and load save #1 safely as it never had Minerva installed on it.
If you're using one of the follower overhauls that is supported by Minerva, please see the "Follower Overhaul Compatible Versions Available" for information about the critical load order.
Do NOT uninstall a mod and then continue playing on the save that had the mod installed. You damage your saves files by doing that, which can cause problems such as: corrupted saves, instability (CTD, freezes, etc), and other in game issues.
The same rule applies to this mod. Only uninstall this mod in these two situations: before starting a new game, or loading a save before the mod had even been installed.
To uninstall: simply deactivate the mod in your mod manager.
The only mods Minerva will "conflict" with are follower overhauls that do not have a patch and alter the vanilla follower quest, or use their own follower framework to handle vanilla followers, and mods that remove/seriously alter the Four Shields Tavern in Dragon Bridge.
List of mods and their compatibility status with Minerva:
- More Follower Voices Mod (MFVM/VVE) = Compatible with patch.
Without the patch:
The Elf Haughty dialogue added by MFVM is a bit too arrogant for Minerva's personality. She may talk to you friendly one moment and then somewhat annoyed the next. Unless you use MFVM for the Khajiit marriage, or prefer it's dialogue, you can use RDO instead of MFVM (as RDO is fully compatible with Minerva). MFVM also doesn't support some of the follower overhauls that Minerva does, which could lead to possible issues. Using MFVM with Minerva is completely your choice, though.
- Relationship Dialogue Overhaul (RDO) = Compatible. Minerva will detect if you have RDO installed upon loading, and adjust accordingly.
- Follower Commentary Overhaul (FCO) = Compatible. FCO doesn't have any dialogue for the Female Elf Haughty voice type.
- Guard Dialogue Overhaul (GDO) = Compatible. GDO doesn't add or edit any dialogue for the Female Elf Haughty voice type.
- Requiem = Compatible with patch found
- Real Names = Incompatible unless manually fixed. To do so, please see the sticky post in the comments section.

:Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):
Question : Why doesn't her mouth movement match the audio for certain lines?
Answer : Install Fix Lip Sync/Bug Fixes, see recommended mods at the top of the page.
Question : I'm using a follower overhaul that doesn't have a patch, can you please make one?
Answer : Maybe. Leave a comment with the mod and I'll take a look at it. I make no promises though, keep that in mind. Alternatively, you can recruit Minerva through her own follower system, which works just fine in v1.2+.
Question : I don't like a certain line or lines, can you please remove them?
Answer : Most likely not. The only way I'd remove one or more lines is if a very large number of users wanted it.
Even then, I may never remove what's being requested.
Question : Is this compatible with x mod I'm using?
Answer : Check the compatibility section listed above. If the mod isn't there, you can easily use TES5Edit to find out.
Question : I've lost her somewhere, and have no idea where she is. How can I find her?
Answer : Use the teleport option in the MCM to instantly move her to you, or enable her map marker in the MCM (if it's off) to see where she is.
Question : How can make other Female Elf Haughty voiced NPCs/followers use Minerva's dialogue?
Answer : Turn on the "Allow Dialogue For Others" option in the MCM. (Option is on by default in v1.2+, and off by default in v1.3 with RDO installed)
Question : She doesn't look like your screenshots in my game!
Answer : Try ENB (I'm using Rudy ENB) or Wearable Lanterns
Question : I want to change her body type or skin textures.
Answer : See below
Question : She's not balanced! (Over/underpowered) Fix her!
Answer : No. You fix her. Seriously, just adjust her combat style attributes to your liking. If you don't know what the options do, see the videos tab where I have a video explaining them.
Question : Why does she cast multiple alteration flesh spells in combat?
Answer : Turn on the "Use Leveling Script" option in the MCM. That will prevent her from using multiple mage armor spells in combat.
Question : Why does Minerva sometimes say "he" or "him" when it should be "she" or "her"?
Answer : This is because in some situations, it's not possible to get the gender of an NPC without using a script. Which is something I want to avoid doing.
Question : Why don't I have the dialogue option to marry Minerva even though I'm wearing the amulet of Mara?
Answer : If Minerva is following you under her own framework, you will not have the option to marry her. Dismiss her and the marriage option will return. This was done to prevent having to edit the original script that handles the automatic follower dismissal on the wedding day.
:How to change her body type:
Copy the following 2 body meshes from the body mod which you want to use.
If you want to use the same body as player character's, copy from Data/meshes/actors/character/character assets/here
Overwrite character's mesh files where Data/meshes/actors/character/Minerva by 's files.
*Copy and overwrite the following files as well if her hands or feet have any seams.
*You have to change the textures as well by yourself if you want to use the special body which doesn't correspond to UNP or CBBE textures.
:How to change her skin textures:
Swap the following 12 textures where
From femalebody_1 to femalehead_sk (Alphabetical order)
All of Minerva's dialogue will be spoken, and displayed on screen, in English. If you would like to make a translated version, you are free to do so as long as it's uploaded here on Nexus. Also, the translated version must require the original mod.
