THIS PAGE IS FOR THE WIP VERSION!! Full Quest Mod can be found HERE.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this project! If you're interested, I invite you to fill out this SURVEY.
DESCRIPTION
Welcome to the Dreamborne Isles, an amusement park of the mind where paths twist and cross, doorways lead to unexpected places, and mystery surrounds every turn. Here you will find around a dozen unique, detailed dreamscapes to explore, including lush forests, cascading rivers and falls, ancient cities, intricate cave systems, and a couple more alien locales. This is an exploration-based mod with somewhat linear concepts that offers several hours of gameplay.
You can now experience a self-contained, fourth-wall-breaking story within these dream-inspired lands. This project is over two years in the making, but I can finally say it's reaching its conclusion. At its heart, this mod is a collection of scenic ideas and original stories that I just want to share with everyone!
FEATURES
A dozen new locations to explore, including interiors, dungeons, and a few worldspaces, all interconnected in a dreamlike, but logical manner.
Several quests to complete with original, near-fully voiced stories (additional quests to be added).
Enemy battles designed for high-level archers.
New (OP) weapons and armor crafted to face these challenges.
Custom background music (more on the way).
Simple yet effective puzzle mechanics.
Original art assets (future update).

PERFORMANCE
There are a few areas with noticeable framerate dips. I don't want to reduce details, as that would detract from the intended effect. I have thoroughly playtested all aspects of this mod with a vanilla game on a lower-tier PC, so you should be able to play through everything just fine, but please let me know if you experience any CTDs or freezes at any point while playing my mod.

Feel free to endorse/track/share your screenshots if you enjoyed this mod :)
IF YOU ARE UPDATING FROM A PREVIOUS VERSION, PLEASE READ THE STICKY POST ABOUT LOOSE SCRIPTS
REQUIRED DLC
- Dawnguard
- Dragonborn
- Hearthfire is NO LONGER REQUIRED.
***INSTALLATION/STARTING THE QUEST***
1. Download/unzip/drag-n-drop the contents into your Data folder, or install with NMM.
2. Activate Dreamborne Islands.esp in the Skyrim launcher (or via whatever method you prefer).
3. Start your game and find Borlan at the Frozen Hearth in Winterhold to get things started (let his voiceless dialogue finish). Follow the first quest marker, then you're on your own.
Future Updates/Known Bugs
- More NPCs and side quests.
- More enemies to fight.
- Little treasures here and there to discover.
- Details to add and gaps to patch up.
- Original music composed by friends.
- Navmeshed areas for followers.
- AI bugs to iron out.
- Various flickering light fixes.
- Fyr'nas firing speed greatly reduced when the Quick Shot perk is acquired.
Compatibility
As of now, the only mod conflict I'm aware of is Lanterns of Skyrim, and all it really does is place a second lantern near another one from my mod. You should have no game-breaking conflicts, as this mod only edits a small part of a cell near Helgen, and adds an NPC to the Frozen Hearth in Winterhold. If anyone encounters any other conflicts, please let me know in the comments.
Recommended Mods
Experiment with and combine the following mods to get your game to look like my screenshots:- Rampage ENB with CLO - Custom Lighting Overlay (apply the "Fantasy" and "Dreamy" settings)
- -OR- Somber Dreams ENB
- -OR- RealVision ENB with Realistic Lighting Overhaul
- Natural Lighting and Atmospherics (.esp file only)
- Skyrim Flora Overhaul
- Unique Grasses and Groundcovers
- Northfire's Photoreal Mountains
- Dramatic Clouds
Suggestions
- Make a new save before dreaming...there's not an easy way to get back to Skyrim without some sort of teleport spell, mod, or console command. I have included a teleport spell about halfway through that will let you come back to one of three locations at any time.
- Try to avoid using console commands or cheats while playing through my mod. Everything is placed intentionally, to account for perspective, when things are revealed to you, fall damage, etc.
- Have your followers wait before entering the first house. This is intended to be a solo adventure through dreamland. Any current NavMeshing is only applied to areas with NPCs and enemies.
But wait! It's not lore-friendly!
You could say it is. Technically all of this is intended to happen in a dream that you, the player, have during your playthrough. Plus, I've written my story to fit within the Elder Scrolls universe.
PERMISSIONS:
The ONLY places this mod is allowed to be published are here on the Nexus, and on the Steam Workshop. You may NOT redistribute this mod on any other site in any form or fashion. You CAN, however, upload as many screenshots as you'd like wherever you want, and you may link back to this mod page anytime, anyhow (in fact I highly encourage you to do so!) Respect these terms, and you won't hear from me. Thanks!
