Skyrim: Immersive Whiterun Guard Shield Overhaul is a retexture mod that aims to enhance the depth and immersion of Skyrim.
This meant replacing the classic Whiterun Guard Shield with a more lore-friendly and immersive alternative.

The Lore:

The exact origin of how these shields came to be is yet unknown, but Nordic legend suggests that they existed during the first era. What is certain; after Olaf One-Eye defeated Numinex and entombed him within Dragonsreach, they were stacked up neatly next to the barracks.

"From the beginning, Ching." These are the words heard by all residents of Whiterun following Numinex's imprisonment, later being found inscribed beneath the Skyforge. Are they a prophecy sent by the Divines? Perhaps a cosmological whisper drifted through space and time, blanketing the base of the forge with a snippet of extraterrestrial conversation. There must be a connection between this and the shields. A metaphor for the coming of Alduin, perhaps. After all, "The security in Whiterun is terrible. Shameful is what it is."

- This mod does not require any of the Dragonborn, Hearthfires, or Dawnguard DLC, and is compatible with all of them.
- This mod only contains texturesno meshes, and no esp. The texture has the exact same layout as the original Bathesda textures, so it should work with any mod that alters the shield meshes.
-This retexture should be compatible with any retexture that overwrites "whiterunsymbol_n.dds", but it might look a little weird.
- The altered textures will be located in the Skyrim Data folder (Usually located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Skyrim)
- The exact location of the textures in the Data folder is (\textures\armor\stormcloaks)
- Installation with Nexus Mod Manager is recommended. If asked to overwrite anything, this mod is likely incompatible with what is already installed.

Ingame Issues:

- This mod is incompatible with any mod that overwrites "whiterunsymbol.dds". Aside from that, it is guaranteed to be compatible with, or may even compliment, any other mod. Although mods that change the shield meshes, or alter "whiterunsymbol_n.dds" should be used at the user's own risk.
- The heavy and dark nature of the shield may force your character to to partake in quests given by the Daedric Princes. (The shield is rather edgy.)

Real Life Issues:

- No really, this shield is edgy. Real edgy. He might offend you or your loved ones, and will sass you down. (For real, he called me a Fuzzbag once)

Yes, this is an elongated, far fetched, inside joke.

No offence is intended to any mod authors who feel indirectly impersonated.
