Minion Mastery adds various new lore friendly creature summoning spells to the game as well as spells that interact with the summoned creatures. This mod also makes changes to the Conjuration Perks allowing the player to gradually control more and more summoned creatures at the same time. This mod aims to be balanced and to provide a solution for players want to play as a 'pure summoner' character. This mod should work fine with other mods that also alter the Conjuration perks, just make sure that the player is able to summon more than 1 or 2 minions as they level, otherwise this mod will be pretty pointless.

All minions scale their level with the player and also have minimum levels. No DLC is required but Dragonborn is strongly recommended for a good selection of new summoning spells as well as the 'Convoke' spells that spawn various types of spiders on top of the enemy!

This mod is still under development. I intend to add more minion interaction spells and possibly explore new methods of summoning, there is currently an experimental Minion Ward under development.

Perks

Perks have been slightly modified to slowly increase the maximum creature summon limit as the player gradually levels, this has been done with balance in mind in order to create a play style where, if desired, a player can depend on their minions alone playing as a pure conjuration build. With all perks players will be able to summon a total of 30 creatures at once, limited only by magicka regeneration to many weak creatures or a few large creatures or a mixture. Twin Souls is the key perk here as it doubles the summon limit making it a priority for summons who want an army of small but deadly creatures. Be aware that some summoning methods such as Convoke do not use the summoning limit at all too.

  • Novice Conjuration - Now additionally increases the creature summon limit by 2.
  • Apprentice Conjuration - Now additionally increases the creature summon limit by 2.
  • Adept Conjuration - Now additionally increases the creature summon limit by 2.
  • Expert Conjuration - Now additionally increases the creature summon limit by 2.
  • Master Conjuration - Now additionally increases the creature summon limit by 2.
  • Summoner - Now additionally increases the creature summon limit by 2.
  • Elemental Potency - Now additionally increases the creature summon limit by 2.
  • Twin Souls - Doubles the creature summon limit.

Minion Roles
Each minion specializes in a specific role in it's own way.

Defensive:

  • Walls: Mudcrab minions and then later Netch minions are modified to have a really large health pool allowing them to take a lot of hits, their melee attacks also apply a Taunt effect to their target which forces their target to only attack them for a small duration. Their drawback is that they are very slow.
  • Interceptors: Chaurus/Siligonder minions are modified to have a large health pool allowing them to take a lot of hits, their melee attacks also apply a Taunt effect to their target which forces their target to only attack them for a small duration. While Chaurus don't have as much health as Mudcrabs, they move a lot faster.
  • Hybrids: Werebears and Dragon Whelps are fairly balanced defensive minions, they have good health and decent speed with average attack, their melee attacks also apply a Taunt effect to their target which forces their target to only attack them for a small duration.

Damage:

  • Ice Wraiths are fast and have frost melee attacks slowing down the enemy, they have a small health pool however.
  • Fire Wyrms are fast and have fire melee attacks that deal a lot of damage, they have a small health pool however.
  • Skeevers and Werewolves have a powerful melee attack with a good health pool, but they're not as hard to take down as a defensive minion.
  • Frostbite Spiders are versatile, the have good speed, average health and have decent ranged and melee attacks.
  • Death Hounds and Zahilisks are very fast and deal a decent amount of melee damage.
  • Spriggans and Spriggan Matrons are very useful minions with good melee attacks, the ability to summon Spriggan Swarms and healing abilities.
  • Wispmothers use a ranged frost attack making them the best ranged minions for fending off fast melee opponents. Wispmothers will also summon WIsps.
  • Lurkers have poisonous melee attacks making them good for long fights or against enemies that teleport or move around a lot.
  • Seekers and Seeker Aspirants have a ranged health drain ability making them good for long fights and also fairly resilient.
  • Albino, Flame, Frost and Shock Spiders have a unique use as they are summoned from a ranged projectile attack that forces any enemy it hits to immediately target the spiders. While Albino Spiders are merely used early game to preoccupy enemies, the other spiders offer unique roles. Flame Spiders will explode on death burning all nearby enemies. Frost Spider will deal frost damage to all nearby enemies slowing them down and draining their stamina. Shock Spiders will deal high amounts of Shock damage to it's target making them especially useful against enemy spell casters as they rapidly drain their magicka.
