CREEPIER DAEDRIC PRINCES
By Dahveed

The Daedric quests in Skyrim are generally well done.  They are interesting, diverse, and have excellent voice acting.

However, I personally find that when they speak to me, I don't truly feel like I am in the presence of a powerful being; rather, it sounds like just another person speaking to me in an ad-hoc "lets-pretend" spooky voice.

This mod aims to fix that!

By using a great, free tool called Audacity, I basically warped all the Daedric voices to Oblivion!  Now when you do the Daedric quests, you will truly (hopefully!) be much more awed by their presence.  You aren't just talking to an angry bandit; you are talking to GODS!!!

However, I didn't want to tinker too much; as they say, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."  With this mindset, you'll notice that a few of the Daedric Princes only have very subtle changes, such as echoing or down-pitching.  In the case of Sheogorath, I left his vanilla voice, since the same voice actor has been in 3 ES games (Oblivion, Skyrim, and ESO); sometimes I would tinker with a word here and there to make him sound a bit more "crazy", but that's all.  (I also added a slight echo to the parts where he speaks to you in your head, and not face-to-face.)  In the case of Clavicus Vile and Barbas, I changed literally nothing; I think Vile's voice fits perfectly for his personality, and Barbas is just too damn cute, lol.

One final note.  In a couple of cases the distortion effects are stronger in the actual game than I expected.  If any background effects such as weather, voiced dialogue, fire and so forth are playing along with the game's background music, these voices might be difficult to understand.  Thus, subtitles are recommended.  If you must, make a quicksave before you begin each part of a Daedric quest... and if you find you really can't understand what is be said, go back and turn on subtitles for that one part, if you're someone (like me) who doesn't like subtitles all the time.

Finally, without further ado, here is an audio example I've uploaded to Youtube for each Daedric prince, in no particular order.  You'll be able to tell right away if this is a mod for you.  I've tried to avoid spoilers, but I'd still advise caution for someone who hasn't played through all the related quests yet.
(If you'd like an in-game example, check out the "videos" tab where I've included a much more extensive in-game example of the changes of the beginning of the Molag Bal quest.)

The main file now comes with a "fomod" installer, so you can decide to disable individual princes who don't suit your fancy, for whatever reason.  Special thanks to Nexus user "Homercide" who provided the xml file for this!
