Did you like the vanilla Restoration school, but felt it was too underwhelming? This mod aims to strengthen the already present vanilla Restoration spells, to make Restoration a more desirable and practical choice early on.

Description:


The objective of this mod is simple.  Make vanilla Restoration spells stronger in order to make them feel powerful and scale well into the lategame.

Features:

1)  The power of restoration spells now scale with your Restoration skill, spells now become twice as powerful when Restoration is maxed (+15% at Restoration 15, +100% at Restoration 100).

2)  Magicka cost of most Restoration spells have been increased to compensate for stronger effects.

3)  Instant heal spells, Fast Heal and Close Wounds, have been turned into Heal over Time spells.  Think Heal over Time potions, cast briefly and heal slowly.  Instant heal spells now heal more overall, but take much longer to heal.  They currently take 10 seconds.

4)  Turn Undead spells have had their strength redistributed.  Lesser Turn Undead can now turn undead up to level 5, the two subsequent spells turn undead up to levels 10 and 15.

5)  Turn Undead spells now last less (45 sec down from 60 sec), stagger the undead, and deal a small damage over time in addition to scaring undead.  Now casting Turn Undead serves another purpose besides making it harder to finish off those pesky Skeletons.

6)  Wards have not been touched.  Have not yet decided whether they would benefit from changes.

7)  Currently working on a companion mod focusing on enchantments that will add items that will also increase spell power when worn (Bigger heals, higher level turn undead).

Frequently Asked Questions:

1)  Instant Heal Spells have been changed into Heal over Time, but what about Concentration healing spells like "Healing" and "Healing Hands"?

A:  Concentration spells have not been changed in the current version of the mod.  The benefit of concentration spells is their mana eficiency, meaning you get more health for your mana.  The objective of fast healing spells is for you to be able to heal in combat, while you occupy your spell casting hand for other spells, weapons, or shields in exchange for a higher mana cost for when you are in those tight spots where mana is abundant, but health is not.

2)  Lesser Turn Undead has had its level raised, but Turn Undead and Greater Turn Undead now only work on lower level undead, why make them weaker?


A:  Remember that Restoration Spells scale with your skill.  Meaning that while healing spells double in health, so do Turn Undead spells double in level.  Meaning that the Lesser Turn Undead spell can turn undead up to level 5 at the beginning, but can turn undead up to level 10 when Restoration is maxed.  This means that without any bonuses besides the scaling alone, Greater Turn Undead can turn undead up to level 30.
