About this mod

This mod allows you to open your horse saddlebags and equip your horse's saddle with many items!

Requirements
Permissions and credits
BEFORE ANYTHING - IM BACK AT WORKING AT THIS MOD AS OF JUNE 2018 SINCE IM BACK TO SKYRIM.

RIGHT NOW THIS MODS ONLY WORKS ON A NEW GAME, EXISTING GAMES WILL GET UNMOUNTABLE HORSES. MY MAIN GOAL NOW IS TO MAKE IT WORK WITH EXISTING SAVES SO TRACK THIS ^^
FROST AND SHADOWMERE ARE NEVER ADDED TO THE PLAYERFACTION SO THEY DONT WORK PROPERLY. NEXT VERSION I WILL DITCH THE FACTION CHECK THEY WILL WORK

Now the mod:

EQUIP YOUR HORSE WITH YOUR ITEMS!

Before you even ask why I didn't made all vanilla equipment available...

!!! WORK-IN-PROGRESS !!!
Why a WIP would you ask? well, I can code but I sure as hell can't make awesome 3D models and textures!

THIS MOD NEEDS SOMEONE WHO CAN MODEL PLEEEEEEASE
(even if its just with vanilla resources, its more than sufficient)

 >> DESCRIPTION:

I'm brazilian (yeah yeah huehue BR hahaha) so english is my second language so forgive me for any grammar or spelling errors ;)

What this mod do you ask of me? Well well well little grasshopper I have a story to tell ya!
Once upon a time.. a young Shockwave struggled to survive amidst Skyrim's infinite mod incompatibilities, MCMs and mod merging in TESVEdit. After tirelessly searching and countless hours he finally learned a -little- about the infinite abyss that is Papyrus language. Delving into the depths of its realm, he conquered his foe and bent his will (by real life shouting at his computer) into making Skyrim's horses equip his damn Steel Sword of Awesomeness. He got so excited that he decided to do this with his Steel Shield of Anihilation and then (why not?) with his arrows of pointless poking...then things got so crazy that he even made the horses equip wine and mead bottles on carefully placed leather strips...

This my dear fellas, THIS is what this mod does! It allows your horses to equip YOUR items on its SADDLE!!! AHAAHAHAHA cough..cough..

Were you (are you?) tired of being the walking terminator-murderboss-deathking-machine of Doom and, after slaughtering with grace your enemies, go towards your trusty mount companion that is shamelessly wearing a freaking leather saddle? A LEATHER SADDLE??? SERIOUSLY??? Dont you feel outraged that your Demon Knight warrior or Fire Master Wizard has to roam the fields of Skyrim mounted on naked horse? Just fast travel for crying out loud...

From now on, you will no longer have a unarmored equestrian friend! I've managed to catch some models from various modders out there, cut them in pieces, make a biped slot map chart for the horses and script all the items to be equipped on the horse when you stash your stuff in their saddlebags XD

 >> THE SADDLEBAGS:

Saddlebags? YES! by activating your lovely steed (or mare, stallion, mustang whatever) while in SNEAK MODE you will gain direct acess to your horse's saddlebags. Those are not ordinary saddlebags and its not the horse's "real" inventory (since itens tend to disappear when modders do this). What this mod does is make you open a hidden chest so you can safely store your gear, then it checks the stored items -and- if you stored an item with a corresponding horse equipment that I created BOOM! Insta-horse awesomeness. Your horse will equip it, wiggle it and even lick it if you want.

This *chest* has a weight script on it, the horse starts with 200 max weight. Each satchel adds 25, each sack 50 and each knapsack 75 so it will only allows you to store items to a certain weight, if you want more weight you have to equip bigger saddlebags on your horse and you can equip each side with one:
 -Satchels
 -Sacks
 -Knapsack
*If your horse dies the chest items are passed to the horse's body so you can get your stuff back

You are also able to
change your horse saddle and even equip it with horse armors, remove them at will and then put it back again just for fun!

IMPORTANT>>There are NOT many items yet, since I managed to find only a few on the nexus. Many of you wont enjoy the mod to equip your crazy gigantic shields or swords from other mods because I have no way to know your mod list. It will work only for covered vanilla items and even still not that many...

>>THATS WHY I NEED A FREAKING 3D MODEL GUY (OR GIRL)<<

 >> COVERED ITEMS LIST:
-Swords: Steel Sword
-Shields: Iron Shield, Steel Shield, Dawnguard Shield (dont ask me why)
-Crossbow: Regular crossbow, not dwarven one
-Bolts: Steel Bolts
-Arrows: Iron Arrows, Steel Arrows
-Axes/Maces: Dawnguard Axe (again, only one I found)
-Greatswords: Steel Greatsword
-Helmets: Steel Helmet (the horned one)

 >But it doesn't stop there! Many misc items are available so you can equip your horse until it clutters your field of vision:
-Soulgems: petty, common and lesser using same model, filled or empty
-Booze: Wine, Spiced Wine, Nord Mead, Black-Briar Mead, Barrel and a Mead Barrel, Flagon and a Tankard to show them you're not a milk drinker!
-Musica Instruments: Flute, Lute and Drum to show your bard skills
-Hunting Tools and Trophies: Show people your hunting skills by hanging on your horse the pelts from your game! Now you can put on horseback a Wolf Pelt, Fox Pelt, Mammoth Tusk *AND* a Rabbit Pelt (I created this, its a new pelt in the game and it will drop from **guess** rabbits...) Also a Bear Trap that you can craft on the forge (still finding some use to this, for now its just for show) and the Ancient Nord War Horn (yeaah... about that.. this one is only available if you have a mod that puts it into the game, since it was removed from the final release of Skyrim)
-Cooking: You can put a Garlic Braid on your horse (to repel vampires I think?) and some Iron Pots

>You can also equip your horse with Saddles that you can craft:

-Regular saddle, Black Saddle, Black and Brown Saddle, Fur Saddle, Leather Saddle, Rugged Saddle (a saddle with a saddle rug underneath), Dark Brotherhood Saddle (need to be in the faction), Imperial Saddle can be crafted at the tanning rack with advanced armors or basic smithing.

-Steel Plate Saddle, Elthrai Saddle, , Dwemer Saddle, two versions of Ebony Saddle, two versions of Daedric Saddle and a Dragonbone Saddle can be crafted at the forge if you have the right smithing skills.

In this saddles you can add to your horse's features:
-A Nose Ring (crafted on the forge)
-A Deer Skull Helmet with antlers and everything (its hilarious) you just need some Large Antlers from some deer...
-A Troll Skulls Chest Collar (crafted on the tanning rack with troll skulls)
-And you can even put some things on the top part of the saddle like a chest (crafted with firewood on the tanning rack), a bedroll (horse hide, since vanilla starting saddles don't have bedrolls anymore) and a basket (one of the vanilla baskets)

 >>COMPATIBILITY:
I only edited the seven (is it seven?) ownable-purchaseable-available vanilla horses which are: Frost, Shadowmere and the stable horses. I also fixed the Whiterun horse not using the WhiterunPlayerHorse Actor in the CK, you can only open and equip items on this horses so no love for stray and other mods horses... The right way to do what I did in this mod was to create a quest and assign alias to this horses and then assigning scripts to the aliases, but I HATE the quest creation thing on the CK and I cant for the life of me make script fragments work. But I'll try to make a non-direct editing of vanilla records later, in the meantime this is what you get.

I added ONE script to each horse, everything else is handled by the saddlebag chests in the game. Probably compatible with horse overhaul mods but you will get two saddlebag systems, one that equips stuff and one that don't, and you also would need to create a merged patch in TESVEdit to make things work right.

The only editted records are of the horses and one leveled list to add the rabbit pelt to rabbits.

 >>INSTALLATION:

As always backup your saves before going trying out mods, its the same rules for condoms: Safety First!
It should be fairly simple to install, just use your favorite mod organizer tool and install the mod from the BSA version -OR- the LOOSE FILES version. If you prefer a manual approach first extract the files from the .rar and put inside the "data" folder of your Skyrim Root folder.

 >>UNINSTALLATION:
The added scripts DO NOT use OnUpdate events so it is safe to remove without generating orphaned scripts. But since I had to block the activation of the horses for the saddlebags thingy to work, if you unnistal the mod you won't just be losing my awesome mod and being cursed for a thousand lives but you probably won't be able to mount horses anymore (I Warned you to backup your stuff). I've uploaded an unninstal file as an optional file, it Un-blocks the activation of the horses, just replace the files when installing the unnistalation file.
**OR use this file Unblock and walk near the horse for some seconds and see if it works.

 >>THE SLOT CHART

There are six main "Locations" on the Horse:

Drum, Chest, Flour Sack, Basket - slot 35
Mammoth Tusk - slot 36 (but wolf pelt unequips it since it clips with it)
Soulgems - slot 37
*wolf pelt and fox pelt shares slot with saddle middle items except bedroll, it also takes Left Side, Right side, script handles equip of both pelts and they lose priority to any middle item and saddlebags

>LEFT SLIDE FRONT - 5

Helmets (player) - slot 44
War Horn - slot 47

Tankard - slot 54
Flute - slot 56
Barrel and Lute share slot 58, Lute wins priority over barrel

Greatswords/Battleaxes/War Hammers - slot 61

Right now I dont have any daggers or most vanilla weapons and shields because I dont have any 3d models of those, but they are placeholders.
*Update June 2018 - I have the lantern thing figured out, Im not putting a timer on it because horses cant turn on and off lanterns so you take it out if you want it off. It will be on the next update with working mid game saves installation.

 >>RECOMMENDED MODS:
-Whistle by Iskariot, allows you to whistle for your horse and is totally compatible with this mod!
-Become a Bard by Pevey. Allows you to play many Skyrim's vanilla musical instruments, adding immersion to the game and making sense to carrying a lute or drum in your horse's saddle.
