About this mod

A more lore-friendly way to break the two enchantment limit.

Permissions and credits
So you want to make a powerfully enchanted weapon or set of armor? Sounds nice, but there's one problem...

You've read the book Twin Secrets, and discovered that while there once was a time when unlimited enchanting existed, that knowledge has long since been lost... and according a certain dragon source, the Law of Firsts cannot be broken, and the limit for men and mer is two enchantments.

But you are not just a man or a mer... you are Dragonborn! And it is your destiny to become more powerful than any man or mer.

So how can you break the two enchantment limit? Who would have the knowledge to break the rules?

The Dwemer... that's who! Because that's what they specialized in! After all, if they could find a way to extract knowledge from Elder Scrolls, then multiple enchantments shouldn't be a problem for them.

But, now there is one more teeny tiny problem... there aren't any Dwemer left to share that knowledge.

So it would seem that the secret is forever lost to you... that is, until you run into a certain crazed Argonian at the Riften Docks.

This is a remake of my Extra Extra Effect mod, which could allow you to place more than two enchantments on an item, but as it was pointed out to me, that is somewhat lore-breaking. So to make it lore-friendly, I made a small alteration. You can reach two enchantments at skill level 50... but you won't be able to activate the later Extra Effect perks, even if you level up the skill all the way to 100, until you complete a certain quest.

Specifically, the Unfathomable Depths quest. Once you return the Lexicon to Avanchnzel... not only will you gain the knowledge of Dwemer smithing, but the knowledge of Dwemer enchanting as well!

The rar file has three versions: Double Extra Effect gets you up to three enchantments, Triple Extra Effect gets you four, and Quadruple Extra Effect grants you five. Use only ONE file depending on how many enchantments you want.

As for compatibility, this mod will most likely be incompatible with any mod that remakes the Enchanting Perk Tree.

Enjoy.
