About this mod

Replaces the One Handed/Two Handed perk trees with a new set of perks that allow you to completely specialize in swords, maces or axes.

Permissions and credits
I've never liked the way weapons are divided in Skyrim. If I make a character that only ever uses one handed swords, he'll magically become proficient in war axes and maces, despite never having used either. But if I want to make a character that specializes in one handed and two handed swords, then I'll have to spend twice as many perks and end up being skilled with every melee weapon in the game. This mod rectifies these problems by replacing the One Handed and Two Handed perk trees with new trees that focus on individual weapon types. Since there are 3 weapon types but only 2 available weapon skills, I've left the skills themselves intact and instead designed the perks such that their level requirements can be satisfied with either the One Handed or Two Handed skill.

Features:
- New perks divide weapons into sword/axe/mace, allowing for builds that combine one and two handed weapons (perk list below).
- Two handed weapons get a stronger buff than One Handed weapons, so they maintain their superior DPS even once improved via smithing.
- Seriously reduces the efficacy of overpowered Fortify One Handed/Two Handed enchantments by making them affect the One Handed and Two Handed skills directly. Your maximum power without enchantments is higher than vanilla, but you can't fortify your skill past level 100.

Compatibility:
- Incompatible with mods that also edit the One/Two Handed perk trees.
- This mod disables some of the usual damage scaling and balances perks accordingly. As a result, mods that overwrite my edits to the Archery perk Overdraw will probably make it underpowered.

Installation:
Add WeaponDivisionRedux.esp to your Data folder and activate it in your load order, or install with your mod manager of choice. This mod does not replace or remove your old perks, so I recommend a new or early game.

Recommended Mods:
Skyrim Community Uncapper - Since this mod encourages using both One and Two Handed skills instead of only one of them, you can use the uncapper to reduce the amount of experience gained from levelling those skills up, if you so desire. You can also use it to change the rate at which you gain experience for these skills themselves. However, they level up so fast normally that I recommend keeping this unchanged.

Complete Perks List:
Notes on the new perks:
- At most 2 of Armsman, Barbarian or Crusader may be taken.
- The first ranks of Armsman, Barbarian, Crusader and Rogue only scale to level 100, even under the effects of enchantments or the Uncapper.
- In vanilla, your skills increase your damage automatically, resulting in you having a 1.5x multiplier at level 100 in addition to your perk bonuses. This is no longer the case.
- None of the new perks unlock decapitation killmoves.
