About this mod

Arachnophobes rejoice, no longer do we have to live in fear. Vanilla spiders have been replaced by bears!

I created this small mod to deal with my arachnophobia. There are a few other mods that do similar things however none that I've managed to find replace both Frostbite spiders and Dwarven spiders. A similar result can also be achieved by console commands, however this in my opinion is a better option as it does not alter their original drops and as such there are still good sources of frostbite venom and the like.

This mod changes the appearance, animations, stats and sounds of spiders to bears, however they retain their drops. The name of the new bears have also been changed, Frostbite spiders have become Infested Bears and Dwarven spiders have become Dwarf Bears. This mod does not alter Lis or Aicantar's Spider.

I have plans to eventually retexture both the Infested Bears and Dwarf bears to better fit their name and locations. I also have plans to eventually modify the spiders added by the Dragonborn DLC however they have a larger variety and I don't want them to look all the same so I wont get around to it until I start retexturing things.

This mod does not remove spider webs or egg sacks, I'm sorry if those bother you but I have no current plans to remove them in this mod.

I am unsure if this breaks anything and I am unsure how this affects Nimhe. Use this mod at your own risk and remember to backup your save before installation. This mod does not effect any spiders added by mods and there may be potential issues if a mod changes the vanilla value of the spiders I've changed.

There are 3 options for this mod, changing only Frostbite, only Dwemer, or both. The Frostbite and Dwemer options are in the optional files while the option for both is the main file. Please only use one of the three files.

To install this mod simply extract your chosen .esp into your data folder or use MO.

To uninstall this mod remove the .esp from your data folder or uncheck in your load order.

If I have missed a spider please give me the ID using the '~' key and I'll fix it as soon as I can.

If you have concerns about the bears being too loud there is a mod someone else made to make them quieter and it can be found here: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/56490/?
