About this mod

Makes major changes the Dark Brotherhood armor and weapons sets.

Permissions and credits
Before we get started I want to say thank you to, and credit, some people. I have no ability when it comes to making meshes or textures and had to rely on these folks for that. They were kind enough to let me use their files. If you like what you see you should check out and endorse the original authors:
  • User atomec who's Rough Leather Armor is what got me started on this in the first place.
  • User garryg and his Dadric Armor Improvement.
  • User volvaga0 and his Blindfolds of Skyrim mod.
  • Also a special shout out to user kryptopyr, author of Stealth Skills Rebalance, for helping me make this mod more compatable with his. If you play a stealth based character you should already be using his mod and if you're not you should go download it right now.

Now, on to business:

I've never been a fan of the standard Dark Brotherhood armor or clothing. Aside from being just plain ugly it also stands out way to much. I seriously doubt an organization as secretive, illegal, and (in the Skyrim years) on the decline as the Dark Brotherhood would want it's assassins running around dressed as "highly visible ninjas" with their Black Hand insignia plastered all over themselves.  This mod seeks to correct that. All instances of the standard DB armor and all of it's variants have been replaced with the Rough Leather armor textures. The armor now looks clean, functional, and most importantly, much less conspicuous. All instances of the Shrouded Robes have been replaced with the standard hooded black robe.

In addition to this each armor set has been given an additional enchantment to make it more useful. Nothing game breaking or over the top but just enough to make the DB armor a more viable choice over others and to prevent the need to swap out pieces with other sets (like the thieves guild armor). Also included are two new weapons and a new set of Ancient Shrouded Robes for the magic users.

General Changes
  • Blade of Woe (both versions) have had their speed fixed so they now work like other daggers.
  • Two new weapons, a sword and a bow, added.
  • Weapons retextured to appear as daedric weapons without the red glow effect.
  • Blade of Woe enchantment changed to a bleed effect which requires no charge. Shared by the new weapons.
  • All versions of the Shrouded Gauntlets and Shrouded Hand Wraps have been fixed to work with Stealth Skills Rebalance and no longer get the hit to lockpicking and pickpocketing.
  • Shrouded Armor AC slightly increased.
  • Ancient Shrouded Armor AC now slightly better than glass armor but still less than dragon bone.
  • Should now be able to improve items to legendary with normal smithing perks provided you have them and the necessary skill. (Armor requires leather, weapons require ebony ingots)
  • Added a blindfold which grants night eye when equipped.

You may have noticed that the Muffle enchantment on the shoes and boots is a bit lower than the Vanilla version. This is because this mod was designed to be used with Stealth Skills Reblance and I am using the same values as that mod.
...You really should go and download that already.

Locations
  • Blade of Woe, Shrouded Armor, Ancient Shrouded Armor, and Shrouded Robes are all found in the normal ways / locations.
  • Eyes of Night is found on the bookshelf where you would normally find the (now removed) Shrouded Cowl Maskless.
  • Ancient Shrouded Robes are found on top of the chest behind the dead "Assassin of Old" in Hag's End.
  • Sword of Anguish is equipped by Arnbjorn and can be looted from his body during the quest "Death Incarnate".
  • Bow of Strife is equipped by Veezara and can be looted from his body during the quest "Death Incarnate" along with 50 Daedric arrows

Conflicts
There shouldn't be any. If you get a message when installing asking you to overwrite some files that's because you have one of the mods I used for meshes and textures installed. I did'nt change their file structure and just copied it whole cloth. Go ahead and overwrite. There should be no problems as it's literally the same file.

And that's pretty much it.
This is my first "real" mod so feedback welcomed.
I hope you enjoy.

PS
If anyone knows how to remove that annoying enchantment glow effect on the armor and weapons I swear I will name my first born child after you if you tell me... or, at the very least, I'll credit you for it. Seriously, I need some help on that. Only thing I can't figure out how to do.
