REPERK - ARCHERY

THE GOAL

The goal of RePerk - Archery is to provide players with engaging, distinctive playstyles for ranged combat through investment in the Archery perk tree.

Please note that this mod is not meant to replace large game overhauls like Requiem, PerMa, etc. While they offer a substantially different (and great) gameplay experience, this mod is meant for those who do not want to make such sweeping changes to all aspects of the game and prefer a more surgical approach to gameplay changes.

NEWS AND ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTATION
Patch 1.2.1 is out! This patch brings a few small changes that include the introduction of the bound longbow, full perk compatibility to both the bound longbow and bound bow, and perk compatibility to Auriel's Bow. Please read the patch notes for full details on what changed!

Please check the ReadMe for all of the details on what this mod offers! This description is a brief overview of the mod - the ReadMe goes into full detail about all of the changes.

THE WEAPONS
The Bow
Originally the only option for ranged combat, the redesigned bow is now the weapon to use when you want to excel in close combat with a ranged weapon.

The Longbow
The longbow, which can be seen as the bow’s counterpart, seeks to dispatch enemies at extremely long ranges with punishing shots.

The Crossbow
The crossbow redesign creates a ranged combat niche that revolves around critical hits and versatility.

THE PERK TREE
The Core Perks
Honed Aim (3 Ranks at 0/30/60 skill)
Bow and Longbow damage increased by 25/50/75%; Crossbow critical hit chance is increased by 40% and crossbow critical damage is increased by 125/250%.

Marksman's Focus (1 Rank at 100 skill)
Gain a power that makes longbow shots completely ignore armor, crossbow shots guaranteed critical hits, and bow shots stagger the target. Lasts 20 seconds.

The Utility Branch
Eagle Eye (1 Rank at 20 skill)
Pressing block while aiming will zoom in your view.

Skirmisher (1 Rank at 35 skill)
Able to move faster with a drawn bow, longbow, or crossbow.

Cheap Shot (1 Rank at 50 skill)
Weapon bashes with bows, longbows, and crossbows have a 50% chance to knock down the target.

Focus (1 Rank at 65 skill)
Zooming in with a bow slows time.

The Bow Branch
Quickdraw (2 Ranks at 25/50 skill)
Bow draw time is reduced by 40%; bow damage is increased by 15%.

Cripple (1 Rank at 50 skill)
Unblocked bow shots at short range apply a 70% snare for 5 seconds.

Puncture (2 Ranks at 60/80 skill)
Unblocked hits with a bow at short to mid ranges reduce the target’s armor by 25 and cause them to bleed for 3 seconds.

The Longbow Branch
Overdraw (2 Ranks at 25/50 skill)
Longbow damage is improved by 30/60%, but draw time is increased by 10/20%.

Takedown (1 Rank at 50 skill)
Longbow shots at medium range knock down the target. Limited to one knockdown per target.

Sniper (2 Ranks at 60/80 skill)
Longbow shots against full health targets at long range deal 50% more damage; longbow sneak attacks deal 25% more damage.

The Crossbow Branch
Modification (2 Ranks at 25/50 skill)
Unenchanted crossbows can be modified into recurve and repeater crossbows at the forge. These crossbows specialize in certain combat roles and apply knockbacks or stagger on critical hits.

Rapid Reload (1 Rank at 50 skill)
Reload crossbows 25% faster.

Reforging (2 Ranks at 60/80 skill)
Modified crossbow damage and critical damage scales with your smithing skill (1% per point).

ADDITIONAL NOTES
Longbow Integration
Full longbow integration with NPC, Vendor, and Loot tables for both normal and magical longbows.

Crossbow Armor Penetration
All crossbows now benefit from 50% armor penetration; enhanced crossbows now have 75% armor penetration.

Vanilla Perk Reimbursement
If you’re using this mod after playing a character and investing points into the Archery tree, don’t worry! The first time you load a game with this mod enabled, it will refund you all of the perk points you used on the vanilla tree for you to reallocate as you wish.

CREDITS AND COPYRIGHT
Grantiz provided the great longbow models for me to use in this mod. All credit for the models belongs to him!

DEPENDENCIES AND COMPATIBILITY
DLC Requirements
This mod requires the official Dawnguard and Dragonborn DLCs; if you attempt to use this mod without them your game will crash.

Perk Tree Conflicts
While this mod is meant to work with the RePerk suite of mods (this is my first one, more to come!) it's compatible with any mod that doesn't look to modify the Archery perk tree. If you are using a mod that changes several perk trees at once, loading this mod after it should be fine - you'll gain access to the mod's other tree changes and my Archery tree changes.

Leveled Loot/List Conflicts
While it's technically compatible with other mods that modify things like weapon leveled loot lists, ranged weapons, or conjuration spell lists you will want to load this mod after the others or risk not gaining direct access to longbows or bound longbow spell tome through vendors and NPCs. Please note that if other mods that are loaded before my mod modify the same leveled lists those changes will more likely than not not make it through to your game. To alleviate this, look to create a merged/bashed patch (just look up skyrim bashed patch) to work around this.

Weapon Conflicts
As bows and crossbows have been heavily modified to work with the design of the new perk tree, loading weapon mods that alter these weapons will have a side effect of making these weapons too weak or too strong. Load this mod after any weapon mods to ensure my bow and crossbow changes are being retained.
